General Commentary and Game Overview
A clone of the original Mario Kart- it's great fun, but not without it's problems, but it's only a demo and these will hopefully be fixed before the release.

Pros +A decent Mario Kart fan game!
+Option to have real car physics
+Unlockable characters
+Well presented

Cons -No new tracks
-No multiplayer
-Collisions need a bit of work
-Coins not used yet

Impressions
Gameplay
7 / 10
The tracks are the same as in the original Mario Kart, and it essentially plays the same, although there are some minor flaws, such as you can drive through the other cars, and the collisions with the walls aren't quite on. Also, the coin feature isn't implemented yet. Still, it's fun to play and easy to get used to the cotrols.

Graphics
8 / 10
The graphics are simple superb, although, on the Ghost house themed tracks, the 'pits' you can fall into don't look right in grey. THe only other complaint I have is that the characters are a bit fuzzy around the edges.

Sound
6 / 10
The music is good quality, remixed versions, of the original tunes, and sounds good. There aren't reallt any SFX, apart from when using the mega-mushroom, so that could use some work.

Replay
6 / 10
There is a certain element of replay value, with trying to unlock all the characters, and whatnot, plus the battle mode is quite fun, but without multiplayer, there's limited replayablility

Final Words
7 / 10
On the surface this is an amazing game, and, while in practice it is fun, it is let down by quite a few flaws, which mean, for now, you're better of with the original game

Thanks for the review, but I would like to place a little comment, uhm first I won't use the coins, at least that's not the plan, maybe I will use it later so that you can buy special characters or something, and the fuzzy graphics around the edges, then you need to set the texture interpolation option off. Texture interpolation makes the colors flow into each other, that's why it's fuzzy, if you switch if off, everything gets blocky. And I would like to add SFX but, i don't find any and because I've got a lot of secret characters, that don't exist in real mario kart games, i can't add them :-(

Although I'm working on online multiplayer (very very hard) and maybe I'm going to put a topic with the custom track creator of Mario Kart on the message board, this way I can get some new tracks and of course you can see who created it.

Yeah, I see what you mean about the SFX, maybe you could add car sounds though?
Anyway, good luck, sounds good, I'm sure this'll be awesome when it's finished.
