Seems pretty interesting. Since this is a demo, I'd like to make a few suggestions:

1. The graphics tend to clash horribly; try to find a single art style to stick with. Especially Mario's sprites; I have a feeling they'll be fixed (to not keep changing between N-Mario's MUGEN character sprites with what I'm assuming are your edits of said sprites) in the final version, and if that's the case, I won't complain too much.

2. The music drowns out all other sounds; be sure to lower the volume. It's also just pretty loud in general.

3. It feels a bit awkward having the fireball button above the jump button; perhaps you could either have customizable controls or maybe have C jump, X shoot, and Z for the hyper attack? Or something like that.

4. The level design got pretty confusing; unfortunately, I didn't play past the first level, but the reason is the level design. When I was climbing the tower made of blocks, I thought I was supposed to go left, but there was just a bonus area. It wasn't until I fell along the right side of the tower that I found out there was actually a ground below the tower; I thought it was a bottomless pit.

All in all, this is a neat concept. I hope you'll take my suggestions into consideration. Thank you.

The graphics look good to me. Gameplay is not bad too. But it looks like this is an engine test, because of the level design. And engine tests are not allowed on MFGG.

Whoa... this is... whoa.

Aside from the initial shock of a [well-done] Mario combat game, this is amazing! The Mario sprite feels a bit too big, and I have no way to know when my punch is up, but other than that this is great! The controls are perfect for this kind of game, it's super responsive, and very firm.

I would lower the music a bit, so as to now drown out the other sound effects, though. But all-in-all, this looks amazing!

I think you should be invincible temporarily after using a super move.

Uh, this is supposed to be a tech demo, not a real demo. I'm pretty sure that the level won't be in the final game, the level was meant to showcase it's features.

You really need to take a look in debug levels or early prototype levels in games.

Your game should be possible to complete, and not just a level you can only walk halfway through. We will not accept "engine tests", in which all you can do is walk around and test out basic elements.

However, you can still post it on forums.

First and foremost, drop the attitude. Second, I have looked at many prototype levels for various games, but since it's not mentioned anywhere what kind of demo this is, and since I'm unfamiliar with the author and what his general knowledge of game development is, how am I to know what kind of demo this was intended to be?

It's an original engine. The level was created to test out specific elements of jumping and bashing. There are some gaps you can get over by using the normal and super bash attacks. You can hit Power Blocks by bashing into them. Fireballs can make you hover if you hold down while throwing one, and can heighten your jump if you throw one right after you lift off the ground.

It's not intended to be taken seriously yet, I just wanted to post it somewhere. This isn't even 1/10 percent completed.

All of the sprites/tiles are placeholders, except for the hud and Mario's idle. They're not edits, I intend on animating them differently.

Thanks for the clarification, I withdraw #4.

The graphics are kinda weird. The mushroom sprites are from Super Mario Bros. (1985) And for the most part, this looks like mid 1990's (?) And the sprites of Mario are kind of weird too. Some of his sprites are fine, while others look weird, like they were made with primary colors, (original colors that didn't have any kind of shade or shine) this is kind of seen in the bigger thumbnail above. I played it but got stuck on level one due to the level design.

Well..... It's certainly interesting to see those NGPC Mario sprites (edited) to be used for something OTHER than MUGEN. Not that I care about those anymore. I can't remember who, or how many people have asked for the sprites. But yea. Usually I'd say something. But now, I don't really care if anyone uses those sprites at this point. Though the graphics style of everything else Vs. Those Mario sprites are mixed, so. XP
