MarioKart Logo Font By: FontAddict
This font is based on the "MarioKart" part of the "MarioKart Wii" logo. It's just letters, numbers, and some punctuation for now.

Interesting.

How'd you come up with what the other letters looked like?

I first determined how wide its vertical strokes are, then the horizontal ones. If existing letters didn't match, I went with a majority and made the others match. (E and F's middle strokes are slightly narrower than standard so they don't collide with the upper/lower arms.)

E, F, H, L, and T are made of only horizontal and vertical strokes, so I only had to make the shape of the letter fit the parameters I found earlier.

I used the A for V, W, and X; K, N, Y, and Z used extra stroke information (vertical for K, N, and Y, horizontal for Z).

With R I created J, P, B, D, and S. S was hardest because its curves are irregular and it must still conform to parameters. (I used the E's vertical metrics - standard on top and bottom, narrower in the middle - for consistency throughout the font.)

Using O, I was able to create Q, U, C, and G. Admittedly, the C (and somewhat the G) is awkward in this font. I should have made it more like the D and S than the O. This change will come in the next update.

M was used only as a metric standard - the widths of various parts of the letter were used to standardize the font, give it the consistency that I demand in all my fonts. (That said, it needs much work.)

The numbers and ampersand were made similarly - all you need is a calculator and a basic knowledge of letters and your font design program. Using the metrics of known letters, it becomes a matter of simply building new letters from existing ones. Fortunately for me, MARIOKART is a great sample, providing all the parts I needed to make this font successful.

This is a simple overview of a rather complex process, but it works - I have made many fonts in this way, including GameCube Basic, NSMBWii 1 & 2, and this one (of course).
