That's a really neat theme concept. You don't see many Western deserts like these in fan games and ROM hacks, so I'm excited to see how people will use it. You should probably convert it for SMW hack use at some point too, I'm sure that community would find a lot of use out of it as well.

Really big fan of that background! SMW-styled rocks like that are always so nice since you can recolor them and reuse them for many different environments, for example I think they'd look quite good in blue for a beach/underwater level.
