It's a Wednesday update in the wee-est hours of the morning, because I can't sleep, I want to do this week's update, updates are supposed to be on Wednesdays anyway when did they become Thursday things, and I'll be busy all the rest of the day! So I'll just do this update when nobody's awake. Ha ha ha!

A friendly reminder to those of you submitting things: Animated thumbnails are not allowed. I know it sounds old-fashioned since animated GIFs are the future, but we are proud of our heritage of the old coal-powered computers that ran Monomedia Fission and wish to respect it. So please do not submit them. Please do feel free to post contradictory statements in the comments about submissions that have animated thumbnails why can't we, so the staff can fix them.

Now check out this update!

Now if you'll excuse me, I do believe my vacuum tubes could use a good cleaning. Keep your computational devices clean as well! The hot summer months are not kind to a device clogged with dust!

Hi, I'm new to the submissions things and I was wondering, how many time does it take to get your stuff posted? I did upload something the last week and it didn't appear in the today's update. It says it's queued.

It....takes a while. I forgot how long, but it takes a while... :/

Although there can be exceptions to the rule.

It can be a short time, or it can be awhile. It depends on the quality of your submission.

I honestly forgot that was why it could take awhile or not.

Must have been because of my rather lukewarm submissions. XD

Submissions, when created, go into a queue. The name is ironic however since we do not always process things in a linear manner. When something takes a while to get through, and it isn't a fangame, it usually means your submission is mediocre. This is bad, because we can't make up our minds on it, and are inclined to look at other submissions instead of yours.

To guarantee your submissions getting through with ease, make them high-quality, useful to fangamers (for example, a previously unripped character will get through the queue whereas the forty-billionth rip of the original SMB will NOT), and categorize them CORRECTLY and provide appropriate thumbnails.

Failing to do any of these increases the wait time of your submission. Asking about why things takes too long doesn't help either, especially since I tend to purposefully delay looking at the submissions of those impatient people. I'm in a bit too rough of a mood to do anything related to queuing right now though.

Oh, thank you Zero Kirby. I'll re-categorize my submission so it calls more attention (since it isn't a rip). Also, thanks for the answers guys.

I'm new as well and I posted a rip of Mario's voice from SMG2 on July 1, yet it's still queued.

Are sprite and game submissions given first priority?

The funny thing here is you've made a correct observation as far as I'm concerned. Misc. and Sound submissions are often overlooked in the queue for one reason or another, and I just never got that.

It could be for a number of reasons for you specifically, be it just that no one really came to looking at it yet because they aren't graphics or fangames, or because someone has passed by it, but your submission wasn't good enough to be immediately considered for acceptance.

Hey ZK, might as well organize your punch cards while you're at it!
