Nostalgic Update

Today I finally bought the full version of a game I played like... 12 years ago. I guess some of you weren't even born back then. It is a MSDOS game, but a very good one as I think. I might just be nostalgic, but hey, everybody is, right? Why else would people love Rainbow Road from Mario Kart 64 so much? I really don't see what's so special about it other than the music, but oh well. I guess this is exactly that kind of thing that's discussed on the forums in that Super Mario RPG thread.

Anyway, enough of my talking, here is your update you have been waiting for.

What MS-DOS game was that? I can guess a few old ones that are quite nostalgic, such as, Charlie the Duck... Worms Racing... Saint Nicholaas... Super Angelo... the memories :3

You're dead-on with Charlie the Duck! It was a really outstanding game.

I remember I'm playing it when I was very little. I loved that game. I was also playing Dangerous Dave and Super Angelo at that time. Memories...

I was only three years old 12 years ago, and I don't think I played too many video games at that age (except maybe Shrek 2 on the gamecube, but that depends on when that game came out).

I for one thought Mario Kart 64 had by far the worst Rainbow Road track. I like the music though.

Uh, no.

Hate to burst your bubble there shorty, but nostalgia is a human emotion and, like all human emotions, you're bound to eventually feel it in your lifetime.

I think no. MK64 Rainbow Track is absolutly good. Idk why but I hate the rainbow track design in the present :3 Maybe because I already too much bond with the N64 one, lol XD

Okay, but the poster seemed to be speaking in a present tense, not a future or past one.

What exactly is your point here? You feel nostalgic in the present over something in the past.

Coco played a game that they hadn't played for twelve years. That's something to feel nostalgic about.

Unless you're trying to argue that not everybody in the whole universe feels nostalgic at the precise moment in time the update was made, in which case it looks like your old habit of splitting hairs is coming forward again.

MK64's Rainbow Road is slow-paced and boring.

MK64 Rainbow Road was the first one I played, I also played SMK and MK:SC but I didn't even find the Rainbow Road on it (now I did)
the N64 version was unique because of the Mario's friends faces in neon. Other than that, the track is boring, and the edges are all covered.
