I've been a very bad VinnyVideo (or else I was out of town for a few days and had some schoolwork to catch up on). Either way, it's an update. Drink up.

My bad! My submissions are taking very long to review, even 1 week and it's still queued! What's wrong, Quality Control?

Yep, time to copy and paste the response I have specifically for these complaints.

The Quality Control of MFGG do this not as a job but as a volunteer hobby. The Quality Control of MFGG have lives, that, much to the surprise of none, stretch outside of MFGG and more often than not (a phrase which here means always) that life takes precedence.

For example, I recently lost my job. I have to find a new one in order to start making money again. Which I need in order to support my life in the future. Because of this situation I have been unable to really look at the queue very often. I did not bring this up outside the staff forums because you guys don't really need to know. But now it serves as an excellent example, which is why I'm bringing it up now. Other Quality Control members occasionally have rough-and-tumble lives as well, or they go on vacation somewhere, and they have every right to not visit MFGG as a result because it's their life.

This is an example of why a Quality Control member may not look at the queue. They are too busy with other things that are far more important than maintaining a Mario fan site.

Now, I have not yet looked at your sprites, sir. I shall explain why in a bit. But another reason Quality Control may take longer than usual is your sprites are not good, yet at the same time they are not bad. They are in that middle ground, where it's hard to judge whether or not it should be on the site. Or perhaps the thumbnail needs to be replaced because it's not a good one. Or the categories you submitted them under are incorrect and also need to be fixed. All of this contributes to the amount of time a contribution takes to get through. And I don't know about the others, but when I look at a sprite sheet in the queue, I also cross-reference it with everything else on MFGG and The Spriter's Resource in order to make sure that A) we don't already have it therefore making the sprite-sheet a waste of webspace and B) making sure you didn't steal it as some people sometimes do.

This is an example of why a piece of work may take a while to get through the queue. Keep in mind the queue is not linear regardless of its name.

You are complaining about a Mario fan work taking a while to get onto a Mario fan site. In terms of things to complain about in life, this is pretty low on the list. A week is not a long time. Just be patient. I, for one, grew so tired of people asking why things take so long that I take the submissions of said member and throw them in a list where I purposefully and methodically take an extra week to get around to actually deciding on the submission. I might be the only one who does this. I might not. It's just how I chose to deal with it because honestly you are complaining about a Mario fan work taking a while to get onto a Mario fan site.

Oh, and don't think I haven't noticed this is the second bloody time I've said this to you in particular.

Stop complaining and wait. The quality control guys may have something more important than managing the site and accept/decline submissions.
