It's awful. No good new features unless you have registered. If you have GM6 registered (and not a pirated version) get GM7. If not, stick with your older version. |

I take back my last words. GM7 == GM6, with 1 or 2 new features. And my non-pirate key wont even work with the converter. Note to all GM6 registered users: Stick with it.

Yeah. It's really annoying. I use MMF2, but I liked playing around with GM and UM's engine sometimes. Everything I didn't like about GM is still in GM7. It might as well have been GM6.2. UME still lags, and the annoying wait for testing (first wait for executable to be made, then wait for it to load) is still there. There is no excuse for this when Clickteam products have done it for years, and better. |

Note to GM fanatics: Go to the old Game Maker website if you want a free copy of GM6. It's under the "Old Versions" section on the downloads page.

You have to give them your GM6 registration key in one part of the process. I just downloaded GM7 and upgraded to Pro since I already had registered 6.1. I need to try out the new stuff sometime. |

It's ok for GM7...but there aren't very many features. At least it can load GM6 games. I have registered GM6 so I have registered GM7. |

Even though GM7 has only a few features if not registered, I would use it in order to do the fade-in transition. It's saves bandwidth, rather than making the transition by hand.

Towelie231: obj_fadein: Step Event- image_alpha += 0.05 if image_alpha > 1 instance_destroy() Do the same for the fadeout (but use subtracting and go to next room instead of instance_destroy()). I've tried it in an empty exe, and it hardly uses 10kb. ----- A few more things - Did you realise that Yoyo's converter is really glitchy, it rarely ever gives you the GM7 code. And GM7 Lite == GM6 Unregistered. All the features are the same, besides one or two. |

I would suggest just getting 7 at this point, since it doesn't lack anything that GM6.1 has, other than possibly a few room transition features (apparently there's some sort of slight incompatibility issue involved with these). But GM7 has tons of new room transition features to make up for this, so it doesn't seem like much of a problem at all to me. |

I just got it and registered. So not only do I have GM7, but now I have PRO version! I'd say Registered but now I can't with GM7... Either way I'm excited with the particles and effects! And from what you guys are saying about Lite, it was probably a good time for me to get Pro. |
