This MFGG administrator has been out of town much of this week, so I haven't had a chance to take care of much online stuff. For that reason, you'll have to make do with another relatively small update. If you're in the mood for something a little different, try ZekeWars 3, an older game from Press Start that Kommandant Dragmire recently shared with us on the forums. It's not specifically Mario-based, but it involves a lot of MFGG characters that old-timers will recognize, and it's a deceptively simple - and highly enjoyable - play. Speaking of old MFGGer stuff, I still remember that demo for Super Mario Storm 2 that was a parody of the Ace Attorney games. I wish I could find that again...

"Small update"? It's big, compared to one of our updates about a month ago.

I thought for some reason the average wait time was 48 hours… I didn’t know it was several weeks. >.< Again, sorry, but I was just getting concerned. I was going to post earlier on the matter but my browser crashed. And I thought I was doing well with avoiding embarrasing incidents like that… I’ll go reset the day count. |

It doesn't make sense to me, though. When a customer comes to you with a complaint, you don't say, "Well, I'm delaying the fix because you complained." You SHOULD say, "Oh, sorry, I'll get on that." At least, that's what I do.

I know some real jerks over on YouTube that wouldn’t let me off the hook from a similar incident; hence why I try to avoid them in the first place. I guess I’ll go cry in the corner instead of working on my new game. |

You SHOULD say, "Oh, sorry, I'll get on that." At least, that's what I do. This is not my job. I do not get paid for this. I get paid in real life for doing my real job so I have an incentive to please the customer so they don't complain and get me fired. As I do not get paid for this, and do this in my free time, I have no incentive to please you guys at all (and in fact, should not always, or else the site would be filled with bad submissions). Plenty on staff here has made it abundantly clear that complaining about your submissions taking a while to go through is not going to fix a damned thing, and yet people always do it anyway. Why? We don't all sit around all day looking at submissions - we don't have the time because we all have lives outside MFGG. And it's not like this is a clear-cut "do this to make the dollars" job. A lot of this is opinion-based. Things have gone through that I or someone else on the staff would rather have not. When something's taking a while to get through, it's either going to take more effort (like sound and stuff) or it's a bad submission. Bad as in "so mediocre it's probably not worth adding on the site but we're not sure." And there's a lot of other people in the queue. What makes you so special that we should give your submission priority over somebody else's? Why should we get to yours faster? Do you consider that perhaps there are people who have been waiting longer but are just far more patient than you? And that there are people whose submissions have been outright declined and are guaranteed to NEVER appear on the site? This isn't directed at you, person I quoted, since you specifically weren't complaining. This is directed to everyone who has, are, and will complain about things taking a long time. If you do not have the patience to wait for a sprite sheet of a Mario character to be displayed on a Mario fansite that makes no money off of any of its actual content, then you get to wait another week in my book. Of course, I speak only for me on my personal policy. Other staff members do have lives and they have said you shouldn't complain, I'm just explaining my stance on it. I'm the only one who delays submissions, as far as I know. |

I run a server on a game, and I know how it feels. I wholeheartedly supported you when people were complaining about 1-4 week waits. But we got people complaining about half-year waits now. Maybe I should just shut my mouth now. >_> |

…Goodness, I never knew I would start such an uproar. I just had a misunderstanding, I don’t know where I read the 48-hours thing. I do appreciate the time that moderators put into the site, but delaying a submission due to something as simply stupid as that? If anybody has something else to do than bash me for that, good for you. Otherwise I guess I’ll take my submissions elsewhere. This is my last comment on the matter, goodbye.
