Important update on Nintendo Leaks

After receiving some crucial information we have decided NOT to accept any submissions based on the recent leaks, at least for the time being. Any existing submissions about those leaks have been removed, and from this point onwards we will not be allowing sharing any of the content that appeared in those leaks. We are trying to be as safe as possible here, so I hope you guys will understand. |

Oh... This disappoints me. But I understand why you did this. Hey, but can we submit original sprites that are based on the leaks?

Unfortunately at this point we would rather be careful and simply not allow any submissions related to those leaks. If any changes on this situation happen we will let you guys know. |

I'd personally suggest possibly waiting a few months for this entire thing to blow over and thensome. By that point chances are everyone, including Nintendo, would've moved on from the leaks. Would also help if by that time, the stuff from the leaks put up on SMWCentral and TCRF is still up. |

That's completely understandable. Nice to see the comments section for this update be pretty calm, which I can't say the same for The Spriters Resource's statement. :P

At least, over here the staff is willing to wait it out until things cool down, but over there they aren't allowing anything over there to be submitted from the leaks because of "illegal" means, which is the same reasons why emulation is a thing as is ripping sprites/sounds/models/textures in the first place. |

Honestly it is pretty hard not to have double standards. Even the best tend to make mistakes. Since this is something completely new on our end. Instead of banning it all along, we have to tread carefully and let time do part of the job. In addition, some of us have an impression that Nintendo may aware of MFGG. Heck, even here I am working in a full time job on management in real life. I wouldn't even able to cover the legal fees. |

Oh, I was working on SMW pre-release sprites as my first (semi)rip on the site. Time to pull up the GBC emulator then and rip the Mario Deluxe Tileset
