preview
By: Matthew Coburn, W9 Gaming [E] [W]
You thought Princess Daisy Forever was dead... But World 9 Gaming used the power of the 150 Power Stars to restore the game's health and revived the project.

Thus, this is Princess Daisy Forever: Revival. Pretty Much all the bugs have been squashed, as the engine has been rewritten from stratch.

You can check the status of the project on W9's Message Forums. Thanks for downloading!

Author Summary Score
RandomClam PDF is a good fangame that would be professional quality if not for the numerous annoying glitches. 6 / 10
Drezus Princess Daisy Forever is the perfect game for a never-used character like Daisy: If it was done by someone other, you would probably expect something lazily done with the only purpose to "play as Daisy". However Matthew doesn't stick to this and makes PDF look official by adding various modes and options. Play it if you like professional-looking games, not only because of Daisy. 7 / 10
Hatok This game is worth playing... but depending on who you are you might not be playing it for long. A good game though, give it a try. 8 / 10
Mr.mowz Overall, this is a good game. It could use some improvement (and what fangame doesn't) but it doesn't need much, which is what I consider good quality. Which is what this game is. I'm giving it an 8/10. 8 / 10
Flipiberke Almost very good, but not quite. Still Princess Daisy Forever is a remarkable game that you should have played! 8 / 10
Mr. Yoshbert A great fangame that shows great potential, right from the start! But apart from some glitches, this is a very good fangame! 8 / 10
JesseRooA22 A great engine and good graphics, mixed with a bunch of small glitches and annoying sounds. A great game overall, which is obviously improving. 8 / 10
Black Squirrel A very nice engine littered in stupid gameplay errors. Not bad, but needs work. 6 / 10
Neopolis Princess Daisy Forever has the potential to be a great game, but it needs some major changes to the engine and, to a lesser extent, the level design. 6 / 10
Simoneister A good game worth playing, but there's nothing really special about it. 8 / 10
Average Score 7.1 / 10

Yes. The sprite is now back in Demo 1.23b, which I'll upload soon to MFGG and SMB Central.

FireStar, it's available here:

or here: http://www.smbcentral.net/forums/index.php/topic,426.0.html

You may need to copy and paste that into your web browser if it splits the url in two lines.

G WorkX, try this:
http://tinyurl.com/3avyt4

Otherwise, contact me via IM (MSN, etc), and I'll see what I can do for you.

That's the music pack. Anyway, I'll be updating this shortly with all the files included, okay?

Agree here...
Oh well, just played it.

Making such a big fuzz about the game with its 1000MB and extra Music Pack and installer and stuff and then this.
If you just presented this as a regular Fangame, I'd say nothing, but you tried to bring this over as THE ultimate game which it definitely is not.

The engine is full of glitches, only to name a few:
-Shells hurt you if you kick them
-Shells get stopped when you jump on them, even if they don't even move.
-Shells don't go up slopes.
-Collision glitches with walls, where you have to go back a step to be able to jump
-The music of the switch timer (with the red blocks) doesn't stop playing after the blocks are gone.
-For some reason in world 1-2, the sound that should play when you bump a block repeats and repeats...

Next, the so called 6MB Music Pack is definitely NOT worth the 6MB. I could bring you some midis that go under half an MB with at least as much music quality as this game needs.
EDIT: I just checked the Music Pack. You have packed 5 mp3s with over 6MB. I guess your game would need a bit more than 5 different BG musics when it's finished, but I'm afraid I won't download a 20MB (estimated number) music pack for a not perfect game =(. Try to fix the gameplay before you try to go for perfection.

Not to forget the level design which is a bit tricky for world 1-1, don't you think?

Done.
So, what I said above may sound harsh and may sound as if your game was crap squared.
It is not, the game itself is nice, but I have a problem with your presentation of this game that is indeed NICE but not MINDBLOWING as it should be with that size. A game of that gameplay quality doesn't need a total file size of 10MB. Don't forget you said it's a DEMO too, so I guess this is growing bigger!

And it'd be nice if you removed that "NINTENDO" from the beginning sequence, as this game was NOT made by Nintendo, what everyone else here tries to make clear, especially if they go for a game of a (high) quality like yours.

Okay, okay. For starters, I didn't intend it to be the ultimate game. I know parts are slapped together, but I can't help it, as if I stick to one resource, it doesn't have all the stuff I need, like in this case the NSMB tileset.

Can you please PM me with the bugs you encountered, so I can add them to my bug tracker?

And I changed the Music Pack link.

EDIT: Midis are for beginners, and I'm not using them for now.
EDIT 2: After speaking to Treeki, I'm going to compress the musics to OGG, not MP3.

"Midis are for beginners"

midis are also for people who have dialup. I never download games that, INCLUDING MUSIC, are bigger than 10 MB. And also, I never download demos that, including music, are bigger than 4 MB.

I'm impressed, somewhat.
Good game. I only played level 1-1 and part of 1-2. But still. This game has a good presentation and there aren't any noticable errors or annoying parts. There should be a nice story however. The only thing I didn't like was Daisy's running speed. I had to hold the dash buttons all the time. Maybe you could make her run faster? Anyway, great job. 8.5/10
Also that time clock thing is really cool too.
