MFGG 10th Anniversary Time Capsule
preview
By: Thunder Dragon, Kritter, DJ Yoshiman, ShadowMan, Klobber, RII [W]
July 9th, 2011 - ten years after MFGG was founded in 2001, we take a look back on what fangames were like back then!

This compilation contains 11 games from the early days of MFGG, made by MFGG veterans, but ultimately never completed. Some of these games were pretty big and often talked about during their time, but as the years passed them by, no one ever expected for them to truly see the light of day... until now!

Included in the compilation:
1998 - Super Mario X
2001 - Luigi Quest
2001 - Super Sonic Bros.
2001 - Super Mario: The Project
2002 - Wario Eats Everything
2002 - Luigi's Game
2002 - Toad Strikes Back (Prototype Version)
2003 - Mario Spy
2003 - Pocket Mario
2005 - Waligie 3: On Mars
2006 - MarioQuest 3: The Ghost of SEGA
Completion: Full Game Genre: Other
Franchise: Mario

Read the main menu's intro again.

Although I shouldn't even have to mention anything since you should already know by just looking at when these were created.

Are you sure you absolutely saw what year these were created? And when MFGG began?
It's in the description. And I read the description.

And it's MFGG's 10th year anniversary.

2011 - 10 = 2001

WHOA, 1998?! Good God! Bow to the creator of Super Mario X!

EDIT: This gave my Computer a virus... >:(

Did your antivirus tell you that you have a virus? Clickteam programs sometimes tend to trigger a false positive with some antivirus programs.

Dude, this is ill. Through my 3 different accounts on MFGG (GameStar in 2003-04, The Explosive Mushroom in 2006, and Splodin Shroom in 2009--and now I so triumphantly return in 2011) I have heard much about these legendary games. This is bodacious.

I'm not quite sure, but wouldn't that be duping? Well anyway these games are great, there were 1 or 2 that I don't think should be there but I can't pick now because it's been so long since I played them.

Not really, the site's gone through several transformations over the years and due to changed passwords and inaccessible old accounts, I've happened to have 3 accounts. The account I'm using now I actually remembered my 2009 password for, so I just had the name changed from "Splodin Shroom" to reflect a changed attitude towards game development! :)

Am I allowed to write a review even if I don't like it?

Yeah, you're allowed to write a review, but like the site staff said, you seem to have missed the point of this release. This is essentially a Namco Museum of old MFGG games, if Namco Museum released a Rarities edition of games that never came out/weren't finished. It's a relic from the past, showing how far fangames have come since the early 2000s here at MFGG, and should be judged as a treasure from another time period. Yes; the games aren't perfect, nor are some of them even close to hitting the "good" mark... but to give the game a poor review solely based on their content in this time period would be an injustice.

There was too much raw audio for your PC to handle!

When the audio blanked out on my system, it was the result of the game corrupting the audio drivers on my system. I had to reinstall them.

If I may ask, how do you beat Heavy in MarioQuest 3?

For people who might have sound issues from Pocket Mario, that game adjusted your computer's master volume at various parts. First thing you should check is if your volume was turned all the way down.

How the hell do you beat Heavy in MQ3???
I've been stuck there for days I literally have no idea how to hurt this stupid robot. Jumping does nothing. Fireballs do jack squat and just prompt it to shoot its OWN fireballs.

What do?

Luigi Quest doesn't work on Windows 10 for some reason. :| And I have no idea why. Tried it on other computers, dudn't work. Tried compatability with Windows XP, still dudn't work. Anything we can do about this?

Wow, this is amazing! The TSB prototype (which seems more like Toad Strikes Back 0) is perhaps one of the best early 2000s fangames I've ever played! I didn't expect it to be this good! Unfortunately, I hit a roadblock that's keeping me from beating the game: I can't hurt the weird Wario robot boss. No matter what I do, I always get blown up by the explosion. Does anyone know how I'm supposed to beat him?
