General Commentary and Game Overview
This game give off an aura of "I worked hard on this." It tries very hard to be like Paper Mario, which is a tall order to fill, (like Luigi+Giga Mushroom tall) and it is fairly successful at that.
The references to old games is nice, too. Nintendo should do that more often.
However, a couple of loose bolts show this Paper Mario fan game is slightly "crumpled."

Pros -Accurate enemy HPs
-Tries to be original, mainly through...
-Well played references to old games
-Sound effects remind you of the "unofficial sequel to SMRPG" side of the coin

Cons -Unbalanced HPs
-? Blocks only have coins (check my gameplay comments before throwing stones!)
-Enemies don't regenerate
-Mario is somewhat unexpressive

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
Your ability to accurately program the timed hit system is most impressive.
The HPs, while strikingly true to the original game, seem unbalanced when you don't have partners to chip in.
? block contents should be a mystery. When it's almost always a coin, the ? seems pointless... I'm not asking for the moon here, just an occasional random heart or flower.
I miss getting first strikes, but accept that would be a pain to program.
All in all, a healthy B for gameplay.

Graphics
7 / 10
The graphics alternate between "charming" and "needs work." The environments seem like Paper Mario, but Mario seems very unexpressive unless he takes damage. You don't need to build me a Rolex, just a slightly different expression when he attacks.

Sound
9 / 10
Hearing the old SMRPG sound when I get a timed hit/block is satisfying, but it gets a little annoying. (I'd keep it anyway though!) Like the gameplay, you tried hard to stay true to the original, and I give you props for it, just make the looping BGM a bit less obvious.
This is probably this game's strong suit!

Replay
7 / 10
With non-regenerating enemies (which effectively fixes how high your stats can go) lengthy battles, and having to walk all the way out of a cleared dungeon with nothing to fight, I don't think I'd come back to this one right away, but I also wouldn't forget it.

Final Words
7 / 10
Paper Mario's a tough act to follow. You did a fine job, but the small flaws make it a "fun but not awesome" experience.
I give you 7 Star Points out of 10.
