General Commentary and Game Overview
The idea was fun and this could have remained a really good game, but it has a lot of bugs that it's apparently always had them, and since they were never resolved, it just isn't one of the best games today.

Pros *The DS style of design is very appealing.
*The animations are very good.
*It keeps a classic feel.

Cons *Cons it's too buggy... like... REALLY too buggy.
*One of the major bugs is that it won't even function anymore if you get to the end as any Mario other than Mega Mario
*Another major bug is that it doesn't retain it's saved scores. At least it doesn't for me, on my modern (Windows7) computer.

Gameplay
2 / 10
The game always freezes for me on Level 1 unless I play as Mega Mario, and it never remembers my scores after playing.
(Reading from the comments, it appears the freezing on Level 1 has been an issue for a while.)

On Level 2, I can't even play as Mega Mario, I get stuck in all sorts of walls.

On Level 2, somehow it seems I teleport a lot... then I die. I get to the end as Normal Mario, and like on Level 1, I get to the flag and go through the bottom of the screen. The game is frozen now.

So, I got to the flag pole on Level 3, the mushroom level as Normal Mario too, and the same thing happened. I'm convinced that the game will freeze when you win no matter what unless you play as Mega Mario. This seems like a HUGE oversight to me!

If you get underneath a mushroom as Mega Mario, you can't jump on top of it, which is too bad because you also can't go through the sides, causing a few places you can get stuck.

I tried out all the stages.

It really could have been the best back when it was entered in a competition (2006), but today, it actually kinda stinks. It's too bad too, if it didn't have all these glitches it would be good today too.

Also, *lol* at the whole "Bricks Killed" thing. xD

Graphics
10 / 10
The graphics look great! I love the classic NES feel of it, yet your Mario has an improved animation to include more frames and detail like in a more modern Mario game while still being the classic NES Mario.

I also liked how it has different colors of boos. However due to how it was designed, I only ever play against Black Boo. (Hardest)

Sound
9 / 10
Eh. The audio is alright. I really like the race theme. I'm pretty sure everything is MIDI, which is fine, but it sort of stands out on the menu. It's not a big deterent though as it aims to have a classic game sort of feel, so it's alright.

Replay
1 / 10
Because of the glitches, this has pretty much no replay value today. The only reason I'm keeping it is so that I can make jokes about a fellow member on a site I go to named blackboo.

Final Words
2 / 10
This game is rated too high. It has a lot of functionality problems/glitches. Maybe it was the best when it came out, but it's only ok now. Part of the reason I'm rating it low is because of all the glitches. If they'd been cleared up back when this was such a popular game, it wouldn't be an issue today and I would have really enjoyed this game.

It's still worth trying, and ...maaaaybe keeping, but there are a lot of functionality problems, and today there's a lot of better games at MFGG that are much more deserving of a 10 now.

What the Kiddiecat? You rated graphics 10/10, then sound 9/10, and gameplay and replay 1/10 and 2/10! THIS IS RIDICULOUS!
