Haha, yep. :)

Do you remember how development for the game went and what ideas you had planned until you scrapped it? If so, I'm especially interested in reading what you were planning to do with the Yoshiman level (the one that was left incomplete in the game, only accessible through a password) and if Yoshi would visit any more libs. (I know fireball3k made lots of libs back then, thanks to the Wayback Machine.)

Man, I made this back in 2001, so any memories of my thought processes then are either wedged way in the back of my mind, or they're replaced by potential midlife crisis responding recipes. I don't even remember that there was an incomplete Yoshiman level (though this is funny, considering that in WiTT Episode 3, I actually have a finished Yoshiman level in that demo build).

I do remember that we were a pretty tight-nit group of people at that time on this website, and this was a love-letter to the active members. No one was going to be left out... but it was scrapped eventually.

Been waiting for part 3, what happened?

There's a build of a demo of it, it has significant progress. But it became waste-side material after I made a life change and pretty much cut off from my computer for some time. So I don't have the source. I even tried to get the source from the exe via methods I can't mention here, but not only did it retrieve just half the frames in Clickteam Fusion, it also renders a number of events unresponsive, due to Clickteam Fusion not playing nicely with MMF2 projects and extensions.

I just played through the whole thing again... and I'm not sure why I did that.

This brings back a lot of memories, though. I remember that before I played this game, I would hear the Yoshi's Island castle song when I see that name and screenshot (and I still do today, kind of). Also, I like how the mugshot used for Yoshis is the Yoshi's Island level icon that has Yoshi on a falling rock--I just find that really amusing. :)

Man, I have no idea why you would, either.

But in a way, it's very amusing.

Hey! I don't think the person who uploaded this is still around today, but what game engine did you use to make this?

QNova is correct. I made it in The Games Factory. What a time that was.

Who is commenting on this in 2016? I will be very surprised is someone responds to me!

Considering this abomination of a thing is 16 years old now, I'm surprised any one is still commenting at this point!

Actually, in my time being site staffer, I noticed I was the only one even looking at the music submissions (being a musician) - to the point that I requested BS to diminish the requirements of accepting or declining the audio section to only one staff vote, rather than needing more than one to determine if it gets accepted or not.

I'm not sure if that's the case now, but I wouldn't be surprised. Fangames and sprites generally get much more priority over them, and the reason they got accepted almost immediately before was because of my obsession with people's music and being site staff.

If any of the site staff actually do love going through the audio section, then my information here is currently incorrect, and it could be a case of difficulty determining whether it's suitable as being on the website or not.

I think you have no idea what MIDIs actually are then. They are just strings of data that are arranged to play different instruments and control the music and such; in short, it's a music controller, not the actual music. Think of it as digital sheet music. It doesn't vary on soundcard, but on what you're playing the MIDI through.

Actually, the sound card does vary the way .MID files are audibly outputted, depending on what you get. Much older sound cards do sound variably different from newer ones, and some SoundBlaster cards and other more high-end cards also attach the ability to use soundfonts for .MIDs, creating a higher-quality sound.

Those are just the ones with the motorcycle. If you actually open the lib, you'll see there's hand-drawn Marios.

Wow, It's really good. It's pretty catchy too.
Okay, one more. The music that plays in the first part of the Static Void Kingdom & the White Tempest Kingdom.

Thanks!

That one is my ambient piece.

Oh wow, no wonder I wasn't able to find it. I kept looking for castle themes! That's amazing that you were able to get an Ice level theme to work in a boss stage.
Is the shop theme from something?

The shop theme is my original work.

How can I start in full screen mode directly at startup of the game? Is there a command line option for that? Why can't I define ALT as a control key?

Press F4. I don't believe MMF2 applications natively handle command line options, that would be facilitated with an extension.

You can't use alt as any button because alt handles the menu bar.

"I'm assuming Yoshiman was at work here"

No, no, I was just credited for boosting TD's ego. ;D

But yeah, I created some of the songs in the game, both remixes and originals.
