Carrot_64 The game is one another game that's one of the best on the site, this is a MUST PLAY on MFGG. 9 / 10
gengarmaster Overall the game's fantastic, it's just that Langton didn't have much ideas or new enemies on hand. 7 / 10
GibGibs12 This game is a must play. forget that! it's Gib's recommended!

Just play it.

steffire A must-play tribute to the Super Mario Bros. Genre... Better than some official games. 9 / 10
afanguy Overall, this game is awesome. If you loved the classic Mario games, this game is definitly at least worth a try. The gameplay feels great, the graphics are appealing to the eye, the sound is awesome and there's a ton of stuff to do. It might be hard at times, but the game is worth playing. 10 / 10
Dim_Yimma_H This is better than Super Mario Bros 3 by Nintendo. 9 / 10
phoenixfirebird Overall, this is one of the best games on MFGG. I hope a member of Nintendo sees this awesome game, and recommends to own this game, ha ha. 10 / 10
Astrakitu LangtonLion64 puts his talent to the next level as he does a Drag Engine 7-based game with excellent graphics, sound, and design. Great job! Keep going until you succeed! 9 / 10
fahyda to summarise this is a great fan game I will most likely play over and over again. I recommend playing at least 1 world. don't only take my word for it, play for yourself. 9 / 10
Syaxamaphone I was delightfully surprised to see that underneath the poor art decisions and somewhat generic title "dimensions", was a commendable Mario platformer with a very well thought out mechanic. 7 / 10
RaymanFan1995 A fantastic game and sequel to my favorite Mario game of all time, and one of my favorite games in general. This is, without a doubt, well worth your time. Take a bow, Mr. LangtonLion64! 9 / 10
SuperMuppet Super Mario Bros. Dimensions is a prime example of what an engine-based game should be like, with a fun gimmick, unique storyline, and terrific level design. 8 / 10
Q-Nova Play this, I don't care if you don't like 8-bit or not, just try this out. 9 / 10
Qwerty Triple6 Is this an actual Nintendo game? *checks* OH, it isn't. I'm sorry, this game is so amazing and original and nearly perfect in every way it seems like it really should be. My apologies. 10 / 10
buildz This is almost a Nintendo game. I couldn't tell the difference. Well executed, and actually deserving of the elusive 10/10. 10 / 10
Average Score 8.9 / 10

Is there any chance you will rework dimension swap mechanics? It really bothers me when Mario stops jumping or you have to release key to continue to walk when changing dimensions.
And the level almost completely resetting with enemies and all reappearing.
I know it's probably not easy to change this (but definitely possible) and I didn't see many people complain about it, but somewhere in the future...? I hope it wouldn't require changes to level design.

I do not plan on updating this game anymore. However, I am working on a sequel, so some of the mechanics may change. Conserving the momentum of Mario between dimensions sounds like a good idea, and I may make it so enemies don't respawn, but fixing issues with the keys locking up is harder to pull off, as these issues are largely caused by Game Maker.

That's great to hear!

I'm not a GM expert, but I suppose that you have separate levels for dimensions (that would explain reappearing stuff and all). In that case, you'd have to write your own global method to handle controls independently of level changing and then you'd have to control player with this method. But that's only assuming I understood the problem right ;) (I'm a programmer myself btw)

So far the game is awesome. Oh, and those tire enemies super duper suck. Two of those little pieces of..of..RUBBER came up to me and said, "we're gonna kill you at the end of this level so that you can battle us all over again." Which, they did. And some of them even pop up at the start of the level. It's supposed to be a challenge and all that, but then they can follow you? That was a real pain. But I have to say, it's a pretty good game. Being able to switch between Bowser's World and Mario's World (that sounded like a reference) is a really cool mechanic so far, and I can't wait for the sequel.

Aren't those reviews kind of exaggerating? This game does not look like an official Nintendo game; Nintendo wouldn't make a game like this in no possible way. It's really something I would expect from a fangame. I'm not saying the game is bad, you did a great work there! But the level design could receive a little more effort.

The level design for me had too much effort, not too less. There are, to me, too many things to keep track of in these levels such as: Where keys are when you have to go back and get another one for a certain door
Where those stupid tire thingies are so you don't screw up on the first desert level
And how to get to certain areas where you screwed up! And it does kinda look like a Nintendo game, it just needs some tweaks and some edits that's all. But I do get your point.

Hello, it has been a while. I had to take a break from the game because of some real life stuff but now that I have come back I've been having no trouble getting the star coins until now. On level 5-3 I can't seem to find the first dark world coin and I can't figure out how to get to the third dark world coin. If your still there please help.

The first dark Star Coin is out of sight in the sewer area, above the ceiling near the start. The third dark Star Coin is near the end of the sewer area just above the toxic water (there are invisible platforms allowing you to reach it, so you are safe to fall down the gap). You will also need Bomb Mario to access it.

Glad to see you are still around LangtonLion64 and that you plan on working on a sequel. Anyway I can't seem to find the P-switch in level 7-secret to access the third light star coin.

That Star Coin doesn't require a P-Switch. Basically, the blocks blocking the Star Coin are destroyed when you kill the Lakitu. One way of killing it is by having a Fire Flower, jumping and then holding UP to shoot the fireball at an upwards angle. A Laser Rocket (the white and purple rockets/jetpacks) works even better.

Looks like I can't make it any farther. In level 8-2 when I grab the green key and bring it down the pipe it seems to get destroyed by the lava through the pipe so that I'm unable to bring the green key with me to unlock the green door. Is there anyway to fix this bug for I have tried with and without starting from the midpoint to see if I could bring the key with me and the result is still the same.

I'm afraid that's a game-breaking oversight/bug in Version 1.0.1, and there's no way around it, so you can't get the end of the game in that version. It's fixed in Version 1.0.2 though, which you can re-download from this site or GameJolt.

Great, even though it has saved my world progress when transferring to the new version it removed all the star coins I collected. Is there a file separate from the save file that records your progress on star coins collected?

Aw man, I wanted to do the laser flower... Although it would have functioned differently.... I was gonna do it in an old fan game that I never finished. It looked different as well, maybe I should still do it.

The "data.ini" file stores the Star Coin data, so if you copy it across it should in theory work okay.

That worked so thank you and I can beat 8-2 now. The final section of 8-2 is a nightmare with Hyper Boos in enclosed spaces.

I'm having a bit of a problem. I'm trying to figure out what to do... I've completed all there is to complete in World 4 (so far), but the normal exit just leads to a secret level, and the keyhole leads me to the switch area, but nothing led me to the next main level. Is there something i'm supposed to do, or did i encounter a bug...?

[EDIT]: Nevermind, i figured it out.

I'm guessing you're referring to the Thunder Dragon statue joke in World 5? It's just a joke amongst the MFGG community that I decided to stick in there. https: // wiki.mfgg.net/index.php?title=Thunder_Dragon_statue

I need to find out if this is a glitch: I died in World 8-Castle once again, so I went to World 1 to get myself some 1-ups in 1-1, but when I got back to 8-Castle, the checkpoint was gone. forever. I tried so many times to see if I can get it back, but it never appeared. Can you tell me what might have went wrong?

This game is great but I've ran into a few glitches.

-Sometimes you fall through moving platforms.

-Sometimes you get stuck in walls.

-In some of the stages where you have to kill all the enemies I kill all of them in a room but the door to the next room doesn't open.

If you can fix these glitches that would be awesome.

Yo Langton, What's the order of levels you need to complete in order to unlock the final level of the last world? Since it needs to be a specific order.

You have to do The Arena AFTER doing the eight other levels in that world, due to a bug.
