The ENTER key and mouse clicks sometimes fail to register. There are times where I had to click on a button two or three times before it finally decides to get itself together. I ran the game in browser, Brave to be specific. I've played a few other games in browser and they didn't have that issue, so I don't know what's going on here.

Nice sprites! It fits the style very well! It's interesting that Wiggler never appeared in a Paper Mario game before Sticker Star (although he was going to be in Super Paper Mario).

Great rip! The sprites look great; I can imagine him appearing in Super Mario: Pearls of Wisdom! You're not the only one who's surprised that no one ripped him until now, that's kinda unbelievable! Also, does Poochy actually pee in the game?

I actually think this is funny! I'm kinda surprised to learn that the Weird Mushroom isn't in SMM2. The sprites look good, although Toadette's pink and skin colors blend too much (that probably applies to the original sprites, however).

Decided to try this out because of Elyk's comment. I got up to level 3 before the game crashed when I shot fireballs at a moving Koopa Troopa shell.

From what I can tell, it seemed okay; not painful, but not impressive either. I actually think it's a cool idea to make Mario playable even when he's inside a pipe, it gives the game a slight puzzle/maze feel and allows for some neat secret passages. The level design seems thoughtless and rushed at times, though; I was surprised at how short level 2 is compared to level 1. Also, I kinda like the usage of the Windy Valley themes from Sonic Adventure.

HAHA! This is hilarious! Especially that southwards jumping pose (used as the thumbnail)!

I can see where Pedigree (back in 2006, at least) is coming from regarding the usability of this sheet; I'm not sure if it would be accepted if submitted today, since Bowser never dressed like the plumbers in any official Mario media and the potential uses are pretty circumstantial. On the other hand, we know Luigi has dressed like Peach in official media, so what's stopping Bowser from doing something similar? Also, if someone ever makes a Bowser fangame that has costumes (like Mario Land: Minigame Mayhem), then this NEEDS to be included!

Wowie zowie, this is pretty neat! The sprites and tilesets are very well-made and fit the SMW style nicely! Also, the Bloomp looks so much like a Dopefish, I love it!

By the way, since MFGG doesn't let us classify a sprite submission as both a spite sheet and a tileset, have you considered splitting the sprites and tilesets? It's not really much of a big deal, but it would make them easier to search for. Otherwise, maybe we could ask the staff to do something with the system.

Haha, yeah, I get what you mean! Don't worry, no offense is taken at all. These are just rips/recreations; these sprites aren't custom-made by me (aside from anything with a pink background, although some of them are recolors).

I believe their reference was the SMB3 game running on a TV, so they couldn't just use the raw data since A) I doubt tools like YY-CHR existed back then and B) Nintendo wouldn't give them the data. Sure, the sprites could've been more accurate, but I doubt they wanted to spend too much time on them since they were making a tech demo to send to Nintendo. Had Nintendo green-lighted the project, I'm sure they would go back and refine the graphics. I'll admit, though, I quite like the sprites as they are. The bootleg look is charming and provides a distinctive and slightly iconic appearance. I think they would be fun to see in a joke game!

Yeah, it's been over a month since the recent additions list was put up. I think it'd be a good idea to do an update with that sooner rather than later. By the way, some of those entries look neat!

(I like how all the avatars in this update are red!)

I think Emperor Scarlet was talking about Sharky the Chain Chomp's Castle (https://www.mfgg.net/?sess=a3a...=2&id=19527). That game was uploaded to here in 2009. Regardless, it's kinda funny that we have two games, made by two different people, that are both about being chased by a Shark Chomp!

I like this tileset! The coloring and texture of the dirt makes it look like a tasty Christmas cookie!

That looks great, and pretty useful!

I wonder what are Toad Houses made out of, though; are they built like our houses, or are they big mushrooms?

Super Mario Moobershmobby... heheh! I gotta say, that's probably the funniest fangame title I've ever seen! It seems nonsensical (looking up Moobershmobby just brings up this game), and it always amuses me whenever I see it!

AWESOME!!! Seriously, this is a really cool idea and you, in typical SuperSledgeBro fashion, pulled it off superbly! In fact, this might be one of your best tilesets yet! I love how you took the time and effort to include so many details; the graffiti, signage, posters, vandalized Bowser poster, etc. It all comes together to create a truly-bustling city and shows how you much passion you had for this tileset! I hope this gets used in a fangame someday!

This looks really excellent! You did a fantastic job at breathing new life into the SMB1 tileset and there's far enough to make a whole game out of this! And I totally agree with TomAndTheCats on the note blocks!

That's a good question! Normally, installation programs are made to save space and downloading time. However, for a lot of old fangames and libs, a lot of which were uploaded as installers, there's not much of a file size difference between the installer and the game/lib. This lib, for example, is only about 400 KB, about 250 KB more than its installer. Not even a megabyte, of which the average commercial game of the time comes in hundreds! With today's internet connection speeds, having to install a fangame/lib seems pointless and time-wasting, but back in the days of dial-up it probably saved a little bit of time (I doubt it saved a whole lot, though). It might've also been because it was a quick and easy way to make a fangame/lib seem more professional. That, or because it's a way to force a fangame into your desktop and start menu.

To comment on the lib itself: I like the palette that a lot of the old NES sprite rips used. It's pretty nostalgic and I also like how it's pretty bright and colorful.

Thanks for the review! It took a very long time, but because of your review, now all of my games each have a score!

If you were talking about how there's not much strategy beyond hugging the right side of the screen, I definitely agree with you! It doesn't help that there are some tight hallways that give the enemies less room to avoid Beat and strike Eddie. And yeah, one level isn't really a whole lot, although this was made for a competition, so I didn't have a whole lot of time.

Long ago, I had planned on making an expanded version of this game that would've included more levels. It would've also included some enemies that would keep you on your toes, such as a fish robot that hides in water down below and then leaps up to get Eddie (it actually got implemented, partially) and an enemy that strikes from behind. However, not much was done and it only comes to my mind on rare occasion.

Happy birthday, MFGG! To think, this will the 20th anniversary of the time when MFGG starts dating the submissions!

I've shared this in the forums, and I'll share it here too: It's a link to a very old version of MFGG, one that I bet isn't very widely known: https://web.archive.org/web/20...owserkoopa2000/

Notice how few content there is! The capture may have been taken in 2004, but the copyright date is 2001, and you can definitely tell it was just getting started!

Did you try this tool: https://mfgg.net/index.php?act...=6&id=12637

This game is made with Game Maker 6, and those sort of games are known for not loading in Windows Vista and onward. The tool I linked should fix that (it works for me).

(This has been brought up in the older comments, but I wasn't sure if you looked through them, hence me posting the link again.)

Neat idea! I imagine it would fit particularly well with SMW graphics and maybe SMB3. My criticisms are that the spot where the slope's lower point meets the floor looks disjointed, and the walls could've been a full tile rather than half a tile. As it is, my latter point kinda hinders the usability of this tileset.
