Super Mario Bros. 6

A Super Mario Bros. Clone. Now I am aware that there are a bajillion of these already, but the vast majority of them are bad, and I wanted to make a good one. There are twelve levels, so it's not a full game, but the gameplay engine is complete and I am personally proud of what I churned out. If you do not like my default controls you can change them in the options menu. You can configure a joypad there too. Made with Game Maker 5.3. PLease inform me of any glitches you may find. P. S. There is a good number of secrets in there too.

This is a good game, given the chance. Please, don't be mean to him for the black boxes, everyone. That's really the only problem anyway. Overall, I really like this game. PS: "Made with Game Maker 5.3." Dude, they have 8.1 out now! Get with the times! XD

If you look past the severely clashing graphics, this is actually a very good game.

It's not a horrible game, but it feels really, really old - it plays like GM games from the early part of the last decade. Some of the levels lag badly, too.

This Game is Awesome! but use smw or smb 3 16-bit pipes please and make mario for a short time invicible so i doon,t die 1 second after i lost my mushroom. And fix the bug if i got already a Feather and i get another one on he shows a fireflower in the inventory. And how fast the Hammer brother throw thier hammers? for me its okay but for new mario fangamer its very unfair... If the Mario Start Screen looks like in SMW the Game over Screen must also look like this. thats all bugs i found while playing. this graphic clashing and sound clashing i find ok so its not only alltime smb3 themed or so. but a big plus for you for you is that mario can perform a wall jump its awesome! And Don,t Custoff like there (Screenshot): http://www.m-i-u.de/bild.php/3528,cutoffnessGQUCS.png Mabye add a Cape attack like in smw to Cape-Mario in smw you can fly and then he falls very fast and then if he hits the ground he kills all enemies (hope you understand). All in one the game is awesomeness!!!

Thank you guys for all the kind words and criticism! I didn't think people would react so negatively to me mixing all the graphics. I might change that. @Relaxo 3x: Thank you for the suggestions. let me address two of those here. If you look back at old mario games even on the SNES, they cut off pipes like that too. Although I can and will fix that. And I do not plan on adding a cape attack like that one, however, if you find a P-Wing, you see I have an entirely different attack in there. @MrHello64: Game Maker has always costed, but it also always has a free version. I just downloaded the free version of 8.1 like a month ago. Also, I used the free version of 5.3 on this game. @VinnyVideo: Yes, some of the larger levels lag. It is an issue I have been battling for quite some time but have found little resolution. I'm working on it though. But more importantly, My friend tells me the game is much more awesome when you get your hands on this hammer.

It's a great game, but it plays kind of...old? I don't know how to describe it, but it just feels really old. It kind of reminds me of one of those flash games you'd play on newgrounds.

That kind of font in the game does not fit, you should use the Mushroom Kingdom Full font.

I never finished the game due to the last level lagging so much that I couldn't even jump on any of the buzzy beetles. It takes sooooooo long to even run on that level. I like the entire idea of the game, the Hammer power-up should be in all Mario games. The idea is neat and RPG-ish + Platform-ish.
