Thinking of both the folks with tools to use transparent PNGs and without, I see

Nice - both towards that and the Star itself.

It's not a very good...render...
I mean I understand that to replicate the lighting and applying specular maps and things would be difficult but rendering it as it is here...it's such an unattractive yellow where in-game it's a rather eyecatching gold color.

Could you make a Rainbow Star rotating? I don't need it in a specific time zone, I just want one for one of my games.

woah, this looks realy good, and making it smaller and downgrading the color pallet makes up for a surprisingly good 16 bit star!
