I didn't know MFGG accepted .RAR files. I've never seen one of those before.

Perfect? No. But these will still be useful.

Also, a lot of New SMB (both DS and Wii) enemies haven't been sprited; those would be pretty useful.

Maybe it's an entirely original engine, but it feels a whole lot like it was based on the Hello SMB1 Engine.

Also, I don't mean to discourage you with my low review, but this game just isn't very exciting in its present state and will need a lot of work.

If your English isn't very good, keep in mind that there are lots of people on MFGG (including me) who would be happy to help translate/localize your game into English. I've helped many Russian-Americans with English, if you can believe that.

I had a hard time following what you just said, but the reason I've generally given games based on the Hello SMB1 Engine low scores is because they're almost always quite bad.

Hello's engines aren't as inherently bad as many people on MFGG say, but the Hello SMB1 Engine is a very bad way to make a game. It's got lots of collision glitches and is coded in a way that beginning Game Maker users are unlikely to find user-friendly.

I made my first major game, Marioy 2, with the Hello SMB1 Engine, and I added a bunch of enemies (about 80) to the engine and posted the .GMK file on the old MFGG forums. Still, you're better off using a newer engine like the Hello Engine 3/4 or DeeY's engine, or better yet, creating one of your own.

Making a game with the Hello SMB1 Engine is the absolute worst way to learn how to make fangames. Trust me - I've been there.

Thanks. There is a program that can decompile Game Maker files, but considering this is a pretty simple game, starting anew would probably be just as easy.

Groovy. I'm looking forward to it, and I might be able to have a nearly-complete game ready for it!

I'm not familiar with Robot Unicorn Attack, but this review sums things up really well.

Nice. I'll be able to use this in my Forest Fortress with just a little color-tweaking.

I love this review so much I'm using it as a joke in my upcoming game. In the unlikely event Coltranepep wishes to raise an objection to that, you'll have to PM me on the forums or e-mail me at VHamilton002@gmail.com.

Yes, the shading is most unfortunate, and yes, it doesn't look very SMB3-y.

I don't think anyone's ever ripped the SMA4 cape before.

Actually, that was sort of the point. The theme of the game is so utterly ridiculous, I wanted sprites to match the game's absurdity.

Also, the game takes place in an unspecified ocean or sea.

Thanks for the compliment. How long does it take for the Kameks to begin appearing?

Just because you used someone's engine doesn't mean you didn't spend a lot of time and effort on your game.

Also: I had a mighty hard time following that game description.

PJ posts lots of comments very similar to those above.

I've got thick enough skin to not be personally offended by people who criticize things I make (I didn't even intend this game to be taken seriously). That said, inexperienced fangame developers are a whole different story; comments like that are only going to discourage new fangame makers and don't give them any idea of how to improve their work.

6,666 downloads... yikes. Still haven't beaten this one - the hardest game I've ever played (seriously).

That about sums it up. Although it's a flag of China, not the Soviet Union.

Even though this is essentially a joke game, there is no such thing as a game that's so bad that it can't be improved upon. Just saying a game stinks contributes nothing.
