GML 101 - Introduction to GML	By: RetroX
This is a tutorial for Game Maker that I've been working on and off for a week or so. This teaches you the bare basics of the Game Maker Language as well as a few useful tips at the bottom. Eventually, I'll finish Part II and post a link to it in the comments. But for now, here's the basics. If you want, report any typos, etc. that I made, and comment about it. Be sure to tell me of anything confusing and I'll fix it up and update. The file contains the tutorial in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, and PDF format. I decided to remove the HTML version because the color scheme was awful and I didn't want to have to worry about browser problems.

Not to be an ass, but could you actually read the entire thing before posting stupid comments like that one? The whole point of the tutorial is to teach you the basics so that when someone submits an example, nobody starts posting comments like "idk wut this duz so PLZ EXPLANE IT 2 MEEEEEEEE." I was going to make a guided tutorial for making a mario platformer anyways.

Now, I like the way Retro approaches the how-tos. Rather than handing you a complete set, he hands you the tools and parts to make a set. THIS is how how-tos are supposed to be made, and I applaud Retro for doing this, because frankly, I'm pretty tired of seeing engines. I want to see a tutorial on how to MAKE the engines.

GML is pretty easy to figure out if you just use common sense. I didn't know about most of those statements though.
