General Commentary and Game Overview
Yoshi's Mega Rush is a horrible, glitchy game that isn't worth the 13-megabyte download.

Pros + Sort of interesting use of auto-scrolling

Cons - Poor use of the Hello Engine
- Unoriginal graphics
- Very glitchy
- Enormous file size
- Can be beaten in about one minute
- Feels like very little effort went into production of the game

Gameplay
1 / 10
Summed up, you begin the game by having Mario hit a block to reveal Yoshi. You then jump on his back, and a fast automatic scroll begins. From here, you just jump over a few enemies (or lap them up with your long dinosaur tongue) until you reach the end of the level. There are a few coins and other goodies that can be collected along the way, but they're useless because there's no score counter (or any HUD at all, for that matter). If you get hit by an enemy, you're forced to start the level over - which isn't as horrible as you might think because the game is so short and easy. That's not to mention the many glitches that make the game an absolute pain in the rear end - or the fact that the game uses the Hello Engine 3 in the worst way possible (to make a short minigame). The author doesn't change anything from the base engine - not even the useless "Load Game" option on the title screen.

Graphics
2 / 10
The graphics in this game aren't bad per se, but they're the same things you see in every single Hello game nowadays - the Black Squirrel tilesets, the standard SMB 3 sprites, the Icegoom sprites for SMW enemies, even a Hello-ish loading screen. It looks exactly like a Hello game in every way imaginable; as with the mechanics, nothing has been done to modify the base graphics. Some of the useless power-ups clash horribly.

Sound
4 / 10
It simple befuddles me that a one-level minigame could reach a file size that soars past the majestic 12-megabyte figure. This owes primarily to the use of low-compression MP3 files. The Yoshi's Island music is nice, but I totally miss the point of using MP3s when similar-sounding MIDIs are available (especially in a minigame).

Replay
1 / 10
Let's see - you can beat the game in a minute, and there's no high score table or any other incentive to make you go back and play the game again. You won't play this game more than once, so this is a definite 1/10.

Final Words
2 / 10
With fewer glitches, a scoring mechanism, and a more creative engine, this game could be good for some simple fun. Instead, however, this is one of the weakest games I've seen in a while.

honestly I thought it was a pretty good use of Hello's Engine for once. At least it was original. The game's not really bringing anything new but it definitely isn't 2/10 bad.

The lack of a scoring mechanism hurts the score a lot, and more original sprites and fewer glitches also would've brought up the score.
