@MARIOFANATIC64:
Assuming you quoted the wrong comment? Not my bubble you're bursting =P
While I do think the wood looks fine, this sheet still has many problems. Especially the subcon tileset which contains a clashing outline (and you shouldn't have put it in here if it is a WIP without saying it is a WIP. How would I have known?). Anyway, the subcon looks completely out of style, and the pumpkin is just downright awful. Not to mention most things appear to be minor edits.

Not trying to scare you away from here or keep you from ever submitting again, I'm just trying to help out a bit. :)

No you are the one I was quoting. You said the wooden planks weren't shaded properly.

Yes, he can. The pumpkins are a mess. There's a bunch of white pixels on the outside. The wooden planks in the underground screenshot lack shading compared to the other objects in the scene. And the blocks shading just looks really off. The Subcon tiles also don't look very good. Mostly the pot, which still has an outline around it for whatever reason. I'm not trying to sound mean, I'm just saying these do need a lot of work.
EDIT: Actually, all the subcon tiles have an outline. They really shouldn't if you want them to look NSMB styled.

Not to burst your bubble, but the "wooden planks" are not custom, they are from NSMBDS's Ghost House.

The thing I like about this tileset the most is that it is one of the most original tileset MFGG has seen in months. I can find 200 SMB3-styled tilesets but you can rarely find a Game Boy styled tileset, so thank you for the originality.

Thanks, I'd like to see your hack if you have any videos!

The hack is a sequel to a hack I released last year, you get to play through 80 new levels with a Clone Mario that imitates all of Mario's actions, so you're essentially playing with two Mario's at once. (But it doesn't appear in every level because of limitations/by design)

Here's the first two trailers:

I also used one or two of your backgrounds in the hack's predecessor. But don't worry, your name is in the credits.

You sir, are amazing. This is just what I needed. I would just like to let you know that I have been using some of your backgrounds/tilesets for a hack of New Super Mario Bros., and I intend to credit you for every last detail. Thank you for making these.

Actually, Doki doki panic was originally supposed to be a Mario game in Japan too.
The folks at Nintendo were going to make it a Mario game but they released it in Japan with different characters to see what everybody thought of it. Then, if everybody thought that it was good enough to be a Mario game, Nintendo released it world wide with Mario characters.
That, is the truith about SMB2 and DDP.

Anyway, great rip!

Actually, that is just a rumor. it's unconfirmed whether that actually happened or not. and doki doki panic was generally unpopular in japan in the first place, so they wouldn't put mario's face on a 'bad' game. until it got released world wide as smb2, of course.

Actually, it plays almost exactly identical to Super Mario World. I believe the story goes that this was originally going to be the sequel to SMW, but got cancelled, leaving HM (a fun game by the way, dont say it isn't if you haven't played it), the sequel to SMW.

Yoshi's Island was the sequel to SMW.

Wait -- hold up a second -- aren't these the same pictures seen as you're selecting a "mission" prior to playing the stages themselves?

These pictures DO look familiar...

That's exactly what they are.

People, Seriously. The NSMB Textures are probably in there because NSMB was in production around the same time as SM64DS, only NSMB took 2 extra years to be released.
