General Commentary and Game Overview
I think that the only positive thing about playing this game was that it brought back all kinds of memories of a Super Mario Land remake that me and TheMarioManiac or whatever it was had in the makes. Needless to say, it never got past the stages of left to right movement, and Mario would randomly stick in the ground and the game must be reset.

That being said, I was much more proud of my extremely little involvement in that vaporware project than I ever would have ever gotten out of this same.

Games like this never have the same awful charm as ones like Paper Mario World, nor the laughably bad quality like Dodge the Shyguys that we can all laugh about. These kinds of games should just be forgotten about.

Pros - Nothing :p

Cons - The sprites are just terrible
- It uses Hello's obsolete, awful Super Mario Bros. engine without so much as a simple debugging
- MIDIs you would have never wanted to hear again
- Just about everything else

Gameplay
1 / 10
Well first off, it uses Hello's awful SMB1 engine, which has been proven to lack in features and is terribly buggy, and this has been said time and time again. Why do kids keep using it without making any kind of their own improvement.

That being said, this game manages to feel like a bad Hello engine clone and doesn't even remotely recall Super Mario Land except in that of block placement. Every bug and collision error in the engine is still there, unfixed.

The few Super Mario Land-esque improvements that the creator tried to make, harshly put, fail. The super flower or whatever just shoots regular fireballs that disappear as soon as they touch the ground. It doesn't even remotely feel like SML in anyway. The second exit to the stage isn't even there!

This is just another Hello SMB1 game, only this time, rebranded as another game. And it just doesn't work.

Graphics

Ew, just ew. Not really much to say here. It uses the same SMAS sprites found in the engine. Some are recolored (they are said to look like SML played on a GBC, but they look like what they are: recolored 16-bit SMB sprites). Some are reshaded (pillowed and ugly) and the few custom sprites are quickly whipped up in MS Paint. The monochrome title screen and default cyan backsplash don't do justice either.

Sound

MIDI's yet again. Most unskilled kids don't want to put any real consideration into their music, and this is usually the result. The same Super Mario Land Birabuto MIDI that is probably the worst quality and least original out of all of them. I can't say that it is absolutely a shame, but it definitely doesn't do any kind of justice to this game. It just sucks.

You're not going to play this again. Trust me...not much else to say. :)

I don't even see why this was accepted. I really don't.

Geez....I just don't get these kind of reviews back at Yoyogames....

You must be lucky it's a scrapped demo...
