As far as engine clones go, this is the most creative I've seen. And I've seen a lot (though probably not as many as you).

And it is absolutely 100% positively because of the level design.

Thats... odd. First I've heard of this issue. THe lines are tiles to make the sides a bit shaded so those are meant to be there but yeah, not sure whats up with the quicksand not showing up for you.

Well, maybe most of the gimmicks weren't unique, but they were over-all fun.

And run-through gameplay is basically the ability where, assuming your timing is good, you can dash through a level in record time. This is pretty much in all the levels, aside from the vertical one, which was focused on a fun gimmick.

And you have to admit, having grass lands, snow levels, and desert levels so close together is a great variety. Much like, as I said, it's 3D counter-part. I didn't mean variety in gameplay aspects.

That HUD is like SMW's, did you edit it from Drag Engine 7 or Hypernova's SMW engine? I'm just wondering.

I stopped playing at level 4 take 47.
It was fun though, but it had a couple problems.
I hit the switch, fell in the hole and then the bridge appeared. I jumped the second time.
an the number of eggs needed to keep the chomp up is very inconsistent.
