Tile Border Detector (For Level Editors) By: lu9 [W]
With this How-to, you will learn to make a border detector to use in Level Editors (if your game might have one), so tiles automatically get changed whenever another tile is placed in front of it.
This system is also used in Rubis' Level Editor and Super Mario War's World Editor, except this is my own version for Game Maker. The codes are commented. PS: This only supports horizontal tiles for the moment. Later I will update this with tiles for all sides.
NOTE: This code is not stolen from Rubis' SMB1 Level Editor. If any of our codes are somewhat similiar it might be mere coincidence.
