Project website: http://www.oldsmb.uni.cc/ This project is an 8-bit, Super Mario Bros. 1 based game made with Game Maker. Game Maker can be found at yoyogames.com. So far there are eight levels; 1-1 through 1-4, 2-1, 2-4, 3-1, and 4-1. World 3-1 is a water engine test level, and 4-1 is very glitchy and incomplete. World 3-1 can be quickly accessed by pressing "W" on the title screen, and 4-1 can be accessed by pressing "B". Z=run; X=jump; Left and right=move; Enter=pause;

Wow, great game, but I found a glitch on level 1-2 I hit a block, about the middle, as super mario, and yet a normal shroom came out....

I had a problem. While running, I can't jump. Fix that, and the game will be better. Good game anyways.

it may just be a problem with your keyboard... or i mean some people say they can hold two letter keys at the same time... I'm working on customizable keys... so yea

how do you get to level 4-2? P.S. when you beat level 4-1, it will take you to the secret jumping minigame, could you fix that?

I'm making a game similar to this. It's with the improved engine BGF made... It's called Mario's Gr8-Bit adventure... It's not the same thing, so I'm not being a copycat! Great game! Where'd ya get the swim engine anyway...?

It would be better if it used shift and control rather than z and x, it's what I'm used to and I have trouble otherwise.

Wow... I checked out the site. It sounds like a good idea, but i can't download it now. I'm already downloading something and 8MB through dialup goes verry slowwwly. EDIT: I forgot to say that I thought the title was funny. Ciao.

It joyfully reminds me of the glorious 8-bit days. Ahh, bliss. Cool game. The movements are a bit choppy, but the game is fun.

I have update 8!!! You have to kinda put it together, though. http://www.64digits.com/download.php?nam e=old_smb_update8.zip&id=22957 is the main zip. Download and extract it. AWESOME! IT'S FULLY A GREAT ENGINE, BUT YOU NEED 2 THINGS: 1: Record an better sound, this sound is regular for use 2: On the world 1-1, you forget the pipe to the bonus area, and the 1-up mushroom at right position, i really have fun, it's really better games foreever!
