Hello MFGGers, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!
All of us staff were busy with presents and celebrations, but that didn't stop us from hosting a Secret Santa event in the MFGG Discord last month. Unfortunately, aside from Mors and I, nobody joined it. So Mors made me a virus. Yes, really. It was completely harmless and all it did was walk around the bottom of my computer, covering up anything it passed by. Clicking it made it fall over and delete itself. I couldn't have asked for a better gift, but since I don't know how to program viruses myself, I just gifted Mors a Steam game.
Anyways without further ado, here's the first update of 2023:
We've got some exciting news to share with you all today. First and foremost, we've got a brand new batch of submissions up on the main site. Be sure to check them out and show your support for the talented creators in our community.
Additionally, we've added a brand new franchise category for Sonic the Hedgehog related submissions. This means that all your Sonic-themed creations can now be easily found and enjoyed by other fans of the blue blur.
Speaking of Sonic, the latest Sonic game, Sonic Frontiers, is nominated for the Game Awards Player's Choice award. This is a significant recognition, and we're rooting for Sonic to take home the trophy. If you're a fan of the game, make sure to cast your vote and help Sonic defeat Genshin Impact. Every vote counts!
And just to clarify, this news post was not written by an AI chatbot named ChatGPT. Just wanted to get that out there.
Hello everyone! I'm here to bring you a new update before Thanksgiving. Hopefully the feast of submissions we've got today will hold you over until the big meal.
Well, I was quite busy for the past few weeks, and the moment I found myself some free time Splatoon 3 decided to come out and get me addicted to it completely. Life is simply unfair, don't you think?
Oh, and before I reveal the latest submissions (which we have quite a bit of this time) I got some news: We have recently given our Discord server a mini makeover.
With Discord finally adding forum channels we can finally implement that functionality directly to our server for those who prefer. This doesn't mean that our proper forums are obsolete now, think of this as an extra option.
Discord is where the heart of the community is at these days anyway! So if you haven't joined yet, do so from the link in the sidebar.
You have 4 days to vote for the games, after that the results will be announced. You can vote for the games regardless if you've joined the jam yourself or not, and it's highly encouraged for you to do so regardless! We can only pick the right winners with your votes.
Oh, and congratulations to everyone who managed to finish a game, that's a huge accomplishment on its own!
We got less than a week left until the jam! If you haven't found any teammates yet and you don't want to go solo this might be a good time to look for them!
Also, it seems like we forgot to put the updates to the last news post, so here's a slightly meatier update.
Also, for those who remember we used to have an unwritten rule about Gigaleak submissions not being allowed. Well, there's no reason to keep that rule anymore, so they are all allowed now once again. Not that we would decline such submissions before but I thought I'd make it official here.
