General Commentary and Game Overview
Your games look amazing, fun, creative, and nostalgic, clear, to-the-point style you're going with. This game has a higher potential, but the overall game is very unstable. I can't rate higher than 5. So maybe I'm hoping for a full release that covers all issues mentioned.

Pros - Very good, accurately styled visuals that have 100% consistency.
- Uniquely designed sprites to look like the past version of certain stuff. That's a nice touch!

Cons - Very bad physics,
- Full of bugs and glitches
- Bad hitbox targets
- And more...

Impressions
Gameplay
1 / 10
Honestly, I was very disappointed with the gameplay mechanics. I'll highlight the improvements that are needed for this game:

- Although you had made the game using Hello Engine 4, you could've made a lot of physics tweaks much better.

- Mario's acceleration and momentum is very bad. Just so bad at one point, I couldn't hold the run key while moving.

- The upside-down plant's hitbox needs to be adjusted. Even including the koopa shells and goombas.

- When trying to stomp on a fighter fly, Mario dies. I'm not sure if this is intentional or not. And they do not fall; rather, they land on the bottom of the screen.

- Mario does some weird thing when he's closer to the left side of the screen.

Graphics
8 / 10
Graphics are decent, no doubt.

Sound
6 / 10
Sounds are very inaccurate, especially in cave levels. Only the jump sound has reverb, while other effects remain dry.

Final Words
5 / 10
I thought this game was fun and exciting, but that excitement soon faded away when I played the game.

Oh yea, I forgot to mention, even the coin sound has the reverb.

You forgot to mention that Mario's variable jump height is wonky, like he literally floats for a split second when you hold the Jump button. I'm pretty sure it tries to emulate the OG SMB jump, but it's not that exaggerated.

Anyways, I probably suck at video games, or the physics made this uninviting to play as I died a lot of times x(

Promising game, but I'm not gonna lie, the frustrating physics made it a pass, maybe one time I will complete it, or wait for the full thing because I love SMB1 fangames.

He should use Hello Engine Legacy instead of HE4 or HE3 because they are really outdated and are a logistical disaster to fix.

True tho. And a really good idea. I hope he uses Hello Engine Legacy, coz the legacy one is more recent and has some better advancements to collisions. I did try, and it looked the same as HE6, kinda.
I hope he comes prepared with an updated demo/full game.
