Actually, I notice that joke being referred to on a near-regular basis yet I know nothing but the beginning of the joke itself. Huh.

But, I guess I'd rather have this update here instead of said joke anyway. =P

Object Parents = Helpful.

I like this.

Seems like every time I restart the presents want to get stuck even more! Fix plz.

Anyone who can't type that plays this game will learn where the R key is, that's for sure. =P

I hate that ever-so-clever room where the stones are in a sort of grid... some are solid, some are not. It took me 10 minutes to get out of it. =P

About the MIDI: It wasn't really that bad on this Vista machine, but I tried this game on a different XP computer and it was the worst thing I had EVER heard. The MIDI may not change, but the sound chip differences seem to make it sound that way. o_o

Looks to me like something that could be partially be used in some old palace setting, or a spinning tile (if edited) in a Sonic2-like Casino. Give the guy a break.

LocoRoo is kind of right, though he could have said it nicer. o_o You probably shouldn't post up or submit your work if you don't like it all that much yourself.

Thanks, I think.

Hey you got way to much junk on that file i downloaded!!! I can't even find the game!!! You are a computer pack-rat, man!

...it's only 2 files. An EXE (the game) and a readme. Inside the zip file. How exactly does that make the guy a pack-rat? o_o

Anyway: I like the way that the engine was fixed up.

I hate to be blunt here, but the engine here is actually quite simple, if it's made the way I think it is. Just one enemy here, eh? Well, this being a demo of a scrapped game (did I read your comment right?), it doesn't matter.

I like your efforts though. It did have some potential.

Yikes; that'd be a challenge. I'll try that, if I don't see any skeletal Bowsers in this style.

...Wow. Thanks. Not that I don't like a complement, but that's over-exaggerating it a bit, don't you think?

Apparantly my computer wanted to play the "blue-screen-of-death" minigame. No start screen or anything. =P

What program did you use to make this?
Nov 20 2006, 3:35 AM See Page
WHAT?

Well... This is my version. I meant for it to be Super Mario Bros style, but I didn't pay much attention to Techokami's sheet where I should have. Oops.
Nov 11 2006, 7:55 PM See Page
I know it is simple, but I never found any sprites to suit the style. Besides, that's all I could make.

How many times exactly am I supposed to defeat the Petey Piranha boss that opens/closes its mouth while you are moving and shoots flaming shyguys? Is this where it ends and loops pointlessly?

Edit: Apparently this is where it ends. I've defeated more than 10 in a row without dying.

It means he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a picture of his backside and some hole in the ground. (I'm not saying that about Ninji Fan, just trying to make this make sense =P)

------------------------------

Anyhow... The tutorial is pretty good. I might use that first part for a few things. o_o

The second part may need a very small bit of work to the example, for it is a bit too much like Sonic Heroes (understand the reference and get yourself a treat =P), but it is very well done.

Summary: Overall good job. Tweak the example a bit for it's lighting and the tutorial will be next to perfect (in my opinion).

Overuse of the "!" mark just makes you look like a n00b, and it is annoying to some people. Not saying that you are, though.

Good job on the sheet.

North Carolina doesn't seem to be having the State Fair yet. =P

You can't "rip" the door motion, Yls. It's only one image. Apply some scale or 3D rotation to get the open/close effect.

The sheet: Cool.

That night place has Sonic the Hedgehog 2 music. o_o; Casino Night Zone music kinda fits, but it just seems awkward using casino music for a forest theme.

Edit: Eep, the water place uses Oil Ocean music. Sonic 2 music fits so well in this Mario game... o.o;

WHY must that happen to me on nearly every update? I have to wait for a while until it lets me view stuff again. o_o

More like Bazooka Bill. >_>

Pretty good, but that doesn't really look like the art style used in Yoshi's Island.
