General Commentary and Game Overview
Talk about a drastic improvement! Quite honestly, Mario's Mansion was one of the most disappointing fan games I've ever played - all focus on story, none on gameplay and level design. But Mario's Mansion Perfect Collection (which aims to put together the mediocre MM series into one collection, with improved gameplay and level design) is a whole different story.

Pros Back to traditional "squash the enemies" gameplay, which is a nice move considering we are all sick of that hammer genre. That dreaded music glitch is gone. The difficulty is fair now too!

Cons Still has nothing to do with Luigi's Mansion (oh well). And collision detection is still a tad buggy.

Impressions
Gameplay
8 / 10
Now that the hammer element has been removed, Fanguy can focus on what truley makes a Mario game... STOMPING! Mario can stomp any enemy (and even bounce off Boos while facing them), resulting in quality Mario fun. The game uses custom movement, which works well despite the fixed jump height.

Graphics
8 / 10
The one major improvement graphic-wise is the Mario sprite. No longer do you have to look at that Paper Mario sprite which has burned into your memory. The new sprite has fluid animation and generally looks good and clean. Also notable is a neat blur affect in boss intros. Play to see for yourself.

Sound
7 / 10
Now that we have jumped for joy over the fact that the music restarting/skipping glitch is gone, we can focus on the music itself. MM uses Mario MIDIs, of course, although ones you don't hear very often. Yay, no SMW overworld theme!

Replay
5 / 10
It's a demo, so it is difficult to rate this category. It contains the first three levels from Mario's Mansion 1.

Final Words
8 / 10
Talk about improvement! Finally, Mario's Mansion fans have a decent game to admire.
