To be honest, this game feels nothing like NSMB. There's no friction; there's no ground pounding or wall jumping. Also, don't give your game the same name as an official game.

They're not recoloured, when Black Squirrel SPECIFICALLY said to recolour them to prevent clones. He wanted this so badly that he made the default pallette super ugly.
Also it's overused.

Are you copying the code into 8.0? draw_self() was first added in 8.1. You can just use draw_sprite(sprite_index,image_index,x,y) instead.
