General Commentary and Game Overview
Ah, Super Mario Bros. Dimensions. One of my favorite fan games of all time, and one of the few fan games proving that engine-made titles can actually be decent.
Anyway, let's talk about the game. Super Mario Bros. Dimensions is a direct sequel to Super Mario Bros. 3*, my personal favorite Mario game of all time. It uses the same art style as SMB3 and similar (though not perfect) gameplay physics with new power-ups, new gimmicks, new boss concepts that actually prove challenge in comparison to official Mario titles, and awesome 8-bit music (speaking of which, where did that Starman remix come from? It really makes me want to dance, but it doesn't last long). The levels are beautifully designed and have plenty of fair challenge, and everything new and unique to this game just makes the experience all the more enjoyable. *In fact, it used to be called Super Mario Bros. 4[/].
