General Commentary and Game Overview
Ugh... man. This game could've been at least mediocre if it didn't suck in magnitude of playability.

Pros Lots of playable characters, progressive difficulty

Cons The terrible engine, also Bubba is the lamest character in the history of MFGG. Also there's these vortexes in 2 stages which warp you to a screen advertising Bbersoft's next games, and it takes you a long wait to leave them. I doubt I'll be seeing these games too.

Gameplay
2 / 10
Alright: I was very disappointed when I started playing after downloading this long ago. A few points to make. -The goal of the game: you must travel across various single level worlds collecting enough stars to win. You get stars by completing minigames. You can open one minigame door in one of the 8 levels by getting all the coins in that level, you can open the second door in a level by defeating the enemies. Or you can hop into the pipe in a level to win a star by beating a racing game. The racing game is poorly done, with an 8-directional car movement instead of the typical car engine. You heard right. And to make sure the game reads that you make a lap, the program says you must collect all of the coins in the path to count a lap once you cross the finish line. I actually missed a coin and had to go back after crossing the line, even though I beat the lap like an ordianary lap. I'm sure there's a better way to program this. Theoretically, you could keep getting stars only using the race and ignoring the other minigames in this game(which aren't very good either). So the cheapest way to win is to keep hopping into the pipe and win the race over and over. Though the game DOES have an increasing difficulty thing, where the more stars you have, the faster the racer goes. That's at least neat. -The engine. My goodness, the engine. First, it's switched the standard "Fire 1 for jump, Fire 2 for shoot". Now it's "Fire 1 for shoot, Fire 2 for jump". Odd when one is used to the normal way. -This engine's platforming is way off. If you've played a standard TGF platformer then the jumping and landing and side-of-stage wall kicking are too familiar. In fact Bowser has a terrible time walking still. -All of the characters have different stats, like jumping and running and attack form. But in being inbalanced for each player to have different strengths, we can have very bad differences; like Sonic, whose jumping is poor but moves left and right very fast. Jumping up platforms while nudging to the right sails you to the right instead, it's a frustration. Systematically, and almost regrettably, I would say PAPER MARIO WORLD has a better platform engine than this. Also, you can change characters in mid-game. This seems to totally undermine the purpose of choosing the character being on a particular one of the two teams, and the plot of the game too. There are 8 characters, each of the 8 worlds has one ? block. I could choose Wario and touch a ? block transforming me into Mario, or go to another world and become one of the other characters in the game. I do not know how this interferes with the ending, since there's one ending for each character. The gameplay is a big mess.

Graphics
5 / 10
Alone, the sprites and backgrounds are good. Mario and Bowser from SMRPG, Sonic from Sonic, Yoshi from the Yoshi's Island intro FMV, DK from Donkey Kong island. But some of the enemies, like the pirahna plant and the thwomp, are custom made from quasi-3D circles and cubes, not from the original games. The backgrounds look like custom CGI textures. When put together, though, the sprites and backgrounds clash really badly.

Sound
6 / 10
The sound is good by itself, music from Mario games, some from other sources, typical Mario SFX. But Sonic's jumping sound is very out of place. And the title music, this funky guitar song, I have no idea what it is.

Replay
3 / 10
Only if you want to see the endings to the two different teams or try all the minigames. (But try not to change characters, I still don't know how that works with the ending)

Final Words
4 / 10
This game is a mess. A potentially interesting concept was built on a very bad foundation.
