General Commentary and Game Overview
Well... this is certainly a very interesting game. Not often do you see puzzlers, but lately, with this and CyberMario, I've been a happy little boy. This puzzle epidemic keeps up, and I'll be even happier.

Pros +Engine works pretty well
+LOVING that "Down Pipe" sprite
+Puzzler game. What more can be said?

Cons -Kinda glitchy
-Puzzles are a little too easy
-Getting over the gap in the third/fourth level is murder
-Music is poor and very repetitive.

Impressions
Gameplay
9 / 10
Puzzle-oriented games have always been a favorite of mine. This game is also very well made and unique. The marriage is complete.

Well, as Mario, you are supposed to grab blocks (like in SMB2) and throw them around, stack them, do whatever it takes to reach the goal. And, reach the coin if you can.

I must admit; the control will seem a bit odd at first; Mario sticks to a grid, so he won't stop right away. Also, the jump just seems... off to me. Just... off.

Graphics
4 / 10
The graphics are the same ol' 16-bit SMB Trilogy graphics. They are getting rather old.

HOWEVER as graphics are unimportant and that's the only complaint, I will exempt my graphics score from the overall (as usual).

Sound
6 / 10
The music gets a little repetitive, and I'm not really fond of it either. Never liked the Underground theme for Pokemon D/P, and there are better IceCap Zone MIDIs out there. It would have been nice for at least a different track throughout the worlds to mix it up.

The sounds, however, are well fit. Love the echo on the pipe sound. Makes it sound more... pipe-y.

Replay
6 / 10
It is only a demo, after all. But trying to get the coins may keep you occupied. Puzzle games are always worth a replay or two if you get rusty after not having played for a while.

Final Words
8 / 10
Super Mario Block Puzzle Game is aptly named. This game has enough good puzzles to make up for the time MFGG has went without a good puzzle game. Reccommended.
