General Commentary and Game Overview

Too good. Feels just like a real Mario game! If the demo is this good, one can only dream of what the real SME3 will be like... Comparable in quality to the AME, just the engine is enough to get this a 10/10! The level and glorious graphics only add to this.

Pros	The level has a classic Jeff-style design, reminescent of SME2 and even improving on it. All the graphics fit together nicely. Everything works well.
Cons	No going down pipe animation, among other small graphical glitches make this slightly annoying to play although these are hard to notice and don't detract much from gameplay.

Impressions

Gameplay 10 / 10	Mario/Luigi and their powerups are implemented nicely, with good movement. The blocks work perfectly! The few enemies which you will see are extremely different and there were no glitches with them. From Shyguys to Piranhas, you won't find a problem here.
Graphics 9 / 10	All the graphics provide a nice change from normal Mario fangames. Overused sprites like SMB3 goombas and SMW ground are pushed aside here. Even bonus areas with little things like carrying around P-Switches and the way a "pushed" P-Switch is displayed instead of the switch simply disappearing add a great feeling to the game - nothing like pushing down a heavy switch :) The way there is no animation when going down a pipe detracts a point from this though. SME2, I could have understood, but this j ust feels out of place among everything else! Come on Jeff...
Sound 9 / 10	No sound on my computer, so I've averaged scores from 4 other reviews for the demo. [STAFF NOTE: Don't fill this category out then :P]
Replay 7 / 10	The level is so well made that you'll probably want to go through several times, either to try and get a high score, try out different powerups, or play as a different character. Otherwise, not much replay value.

Final Words

An awesome demo where everything good far outweighs the few minor glitches. Play it, you won't regret it!
