General Commentary and Game Overview
Kaepora and Someguy have a history of strange games. They're currently working on 'Lets Go Thingio', a game that makes little sense, but plays amazingly. Super Mario Melatonin is a bit like one of the Thingio levels, making no sense whatsoever, but playing great.

Pros Great choice of music, fun.

Cons May be confusing for some, too short.

Impressions
Gameplay
6 / 10
Througout the game you play as Mario, with the standard Mario abilities (Jumping, hitting blocks etc.). Mario can wall jump, and the whole engine is incredibly smooth. As the game is so short you don't really get much out of it, gameplay wise, but what is there is of great quality.

Graphics
6 / 10
Usually if I was to rate the graphics, I would judge them on how well they look, but in the case of SMM, it's not supposed to look fantastic (Or at least after the first level). Nevertheless the whole game is filled with neat little effects here and there, even if it wasn't the original plan.

Sound
8 / 10
The sound is, on many levels, amazing. Rather than the screetchy MIDIs heard in most games, the music here is ripped straight from games, sometimes completely random and not related to Mario at all. For example, the game starts by looking like a NSMB clone, but upon going down one of the tubes, you enter a tomb-like level with metroid qualities. The music follows this pattern, and matches perfectly. The only complaint I have is the bad quality scream at the end, which may have been but there on purpose.

Replay
4 / 10
SMM is an incredibly short game by anyone's standards, however that is technically it's purpose as it was made for a minigame competition on the forums. You may play once or twice, but it won't be a regular thing.

Final Words
7 / 10
Super Mario Melatonin is a crazy and random attempt at making a fangame, however, it definately wins in it's own right.
