General Commentary and Game Overview
So what exactly is Yoshi vs. Windows? A sacramental shrine that represents the essence of fangaming? Perhaps it's a weak but well-intentional attempt to make the greatest ridiculous game ever? Or maybe... just maybe... it's the product of one person's decidedly unique and flourishing imagination with a pinch of hatred for a certain well known operating system.

Grab your long red tongues, and join me on a quest to make this world right again. My name is Vitiman, and we're booting into... Yoshi vs. Windows.

W-wait, hang on. It's still booting. Eugh, these old computers take so long to load anything, I swear. Wait, this PC is from 2012. I guess some things never change!

Pros One of the most iconic fangames on MFGG
Whimsical premise with some hard edge thrown in for good measure
You can slash money right back at that fiend Bill Gates' face!
Quirky (sometimes hilariously so) music and SFX
You get to show Clippy who's the REAL boss

Cons Glitchy and often-times frustrating engine
Clashing graphics so bad that your grandma probably scoffs at them
Ultimately a very repetitive and dull experience, gameplay-wise
I KEEP GETTING STUCK INTO THINGS

Gameplay
5 / 10
I'll make no exceptions here: this game is a flawed one. It's fun, don't get me wrong! But it's also very flawed.

If games were divided into sections based purely on how well made they were, make no mistake: YVW would be in the "Awful, Mediocre Garbage" bin, but judging a game purely on its engine and performance spectrum isn't really all that fun or helpful, and that's where this game truly shines - in its humor! Although Yoshi vs. Windows sometimes gets frustrating enough for me to close it (and believe you me, this has happened many a time), its demented presentation and off-colour jokes keep me from 100% removing it from my computer; much in the same way the Yoshis continue to be eradicated from the desktop PC they jump into to defeat Bill Gates. Yes, that's the plot... I think, at least.

What can you say here? It's really clashy, sourced from all over the place... and funny as all get-out. Unfortunately, humor isn't able to excuse the almost gross clashing entirely, so I'm gonna have to mark this one down quite a good bit.

Sound
6 / 10
A handful of songs are repeated throughout the game, but it all strangely... fits. I like them, for the record. I'd really love to know the origins of some of the songs (and at one point, I think I used to, at least for one or two of them). It's quite a blast making it through and hearing some of these tunes, including whatever song Supertoad2k chose for the Clippy boss theme - pretty sure it's some alt rock song that was popular back in the day, who really knows?

The SFX are... very sparse. But what is there is equally as amusing, so it all gets a relative pass from me.

WOULD I play this again? Well clearly I've answered my own question there, having played through this game quite a few times already! Sure, each playthrough isn't a complete one, but that's not the point. Through some combined mixture of nostalgia and genuine amusement, Yoshi vs. Windows keeps coming back to you - like a dog to a familiar water bowl. Or something.

Final Words
5 / 10
Overall, a necessary classic for the Galaxy of Fangames to maintain as part of its history. It's very flawed, and in some aspects not very playable, but it strives through with good vibes and charming humor. Give it a whirl sometime!
