General Commentary and Game Overview
Super Difficult Mario has promised me that it would be a much more challenging platformer than the original. And in ways, it really is. But is it enjoyable? Not really.

Pros -In some ways it is difficult.
-Music is great.

Cons -Slippery controls.
-Weird enemy collision.
-Most of the time it's actually frustrating.
-And since when does Mario get stuck in Bullet Bill Cannons?

Impressions
Gameplay
3 / 10
The gameplay is similar to most Mario titles: you need to reach Princess Peach and destroy Bowser Koopa!

The only thing that I liked about the gameplay is that it really was difficult at times. There might be an area where I have to rely on my skills rather than dirty luck to pass a certain area. But those are few and far between.

But I had a lot of problems with the gameplay, starting with the frustration it gave me. The controls are slippery. I can control my character accurately at times, but trying to kill enemies or going for huge height is very unpredictable, and that 80% of all of my deaths while I played this game.

But my problems don't end there. Adding to the frustration is the weird enemy collisions. Sometimes, if I'm just a few blocks away from it, I would die right on the spot. Other times, when I actually wanted to jump on one, it would either overshoot me or make me lose another life. That's how bad the enemy collision is.

Graphics
2 / 10
NES-Style graphics of the characters are actually awful. I'm sure whoever made them wanted to bring the modern feel and look of Mario and the enemies with an NES feel, but they look so ugly, that spriter has to do a better job next time. It didn't help that the background was sometimes plain and unoriginal.

Sound
7 / 10
The only thing about this game that I really like was the music. They consist of some nice NES/SNES tunes remixed in MIDI, and I like it. It really made this game feel like a Mario game, despite a lot of faults.

Replay
1 / 10
There's no replayability whatsoever. This game is so bad, I doubt you'll ever make it to the end because of frustrating gameplay and very slippery controls.

Final Words
2 / 10
Super (Difficult) Mario Bros. is much more frustrating than it is difficult. Most of the blame lies in slippery controls, bad level designs and weird enemy AI. Please avoid this game.
