What is This Thing? Episode 1

Originally released for NCFC 2010, this bizarre and somewhat controversial game is now hitting the MFGG shelves with its first episode. Observe a world where history becomes a primary part of what you do. That's about all I can say without spoilers being tacked on. IMPORTANT NOTE: During the first boss battle, the "#2" you see means you press whatever you have mapped to Button 2 (control by default). Please read the READMEBEFOREPLAYING.txt file, you know... before playing. You wouldn't want to void its usefulness, because that is depressing.

neogeom1243	It was silly, crazy, and totally nuts, just like MFGG. If you can see around the glitches and vagueness that this title presents, it's the game for you. This isn't the game for me, but I'd recommend it to anyone fond of MFGG and the history that surrounds it.	7 / 10

Edit 3: Just finished playing the game... I kinda wish I never left the forums so that this would've been more enjoyable to me. (I.e, gotten to know everyone) It seemed like a good story when mario was killed by Kamek, I was hoping he'd have to find a way to come back to life and save the mushroom kingdom but eh... -_- slap in the face when it said it's about mfgg... Not that it's a bad thing, it's that a perfect storyline was twisted, chewed, and vomited into 1 millions lol's and spat back at me... I'm not saying this in a bad way, I'm saying how shocked I was.... Anyway, this isn't too bad. The music is good, my favorite being the boss music. I will continue to play this series. Edit: My review will be up soon.

This is the same version as the one I played at NCFC, right? For Bowser: Button 2 means Ctrl, as I recall.

this is for people who DON'T know how to beat bowser: To beat him all you have to do is when everything slows down while the fights going on go next to a piece of the wood that bowser makes fall from the sky and press "s" to throw it at him. i hope this all makes sense :)

Edit: My review will be up soon. He didn't quite get killed by Kamek, was about to, but then that weird crap happened. But if you know me about dark games, if I left it, Mario probably would have been killed, and then you'd play as Bowser ruling the Mushroom Kingdom, and would have to make smart, political choices about governing the area of land. But unfortunately, that's not what I'm wanting for this game. If some one wants to try doing the "what if Mario was killed by Kamek and Bowser there" story line, they can. Also, I kind of get all happy and filled with glee when I hear you were shocked. If you're worried about not joining the forums soon enough, don't worry - the story chronologically develops along-side MFGG's history, so in later episodes, you might start remembering certain things or events or people.

serious complaint here, i was just trying this game out then when it started making some klaxon noise my computer started going nuts, disc-drive opening on its on, battery charge info kept coming up and my wireless internet connection info is wiped, toes this happen to other people who tried this game or is it a uber virus? cause thats seriously messed up whatever it is, first time that ever happened too :/ edit: if thats how the game works (i really doubt it) then this thing is nothing but truble edit2: got a virus scan going now but lucky for me i just need to re-set up my wireless internet connection >.> thankully thats all that got wiped edit3: well theres no virus after the scan so it was either one in the game which i closed out and deleted or something wrong with the game itself, i used vista if that somehow had anything to with it ok got the internet sorted out (had to hit a button so the laptop would pick up the signal again), but that was just freaky, i got to the point where you enter the building and boom all of the above started happening

i was going to say sorry if that last comment was a bit harsh but... darn, i got nothing :/ that happening was a first for me yet for the situation the title applies exactly so i dunno what to say now except that was just weird (^.^; hope i never see that happen to my laptop again though)

Great game!=D At first I didn't like it that much but it started getting better. Its awesome how weird it was its not something you see in alot of games. 4* 8/10!

The Bowser sprite looks really awesome, and when animated too. I missed the "IMPORTANT NOTE" somehow so I had a tough time with button #2 :) Edit: man, this pretty trippy, just played the Photoshop quest and considering that dude's wonderful dialog I start to think button #2 is a deliberate part of the experience. Cool stuff.

Not to sound mean or anything but... ...this game just isn't fun at all. Games with crazy stories just don't work if its not funny(especially if the game is driven by the story), It feels like your going on a endless pointless adventure, and it never gets good. Maybe this isn't the game for me because story driven games aren't fun to me.
