General Commentary and Game Overview

In an age where run-of-the-mill tried-and-true formulae dominate a world whose very existence thrives on innovation, there are always the few proud legends whose simple concepts bring life to a withering land.

This is one such legend... this is Smash the DS.

Oh yeah.

Pros	Mario has a stopped animation! He doesn't just sit around all day. The main menu has a DS stylus for a mouse cursor
Cons	I'm not sure if he remembered to include dead pixels

Impressions

Gameplay 8 / 10	Unfortunately, the only touch-screen interface I saw was the main menu. Dodging enemies for a duration (10 seconds?) with regular platformer controls will transform Mario into a giant (Mega Mushroom). He then exits the DS and begins stomping around on it making holes. This repeats, but gets more difficult as you make more holes.
Graphics 9 / 10	Whatever the style is, the sprites all fit together fairly well, with the only problem being how rushed the holes in the DS look. Giant Mario is awesome. Also, the DS begins flickering when you damage it which is cool
Sound 7 / 10	MIDI's. I usually just put a mediocre score for MIDI's, but these are used fairly well and get a step up~
Replay 9 / 10	I would so play it some more if I didn't have a headache :D I don't suppose that high score list is online, though...
