This looks strikingly similar to a tileset I've seen in a dream I had about potential SMM1 DLC - especially the conifers. I think it would suit a Haunted Woods level style pretty well.

This looks very nice! Are you planning on making Night SMB1AS backgrounds as well?

Yep, I'm already about halfway through the night BGs. It's still gonna take some time till I'm finished, because I'm trying to find some ideas so as to make the BGs a bit more unique from the daytime versions, like adding some things or changing up some parts completely (For example, the Underground BG REALLY needs some changes to distinguish it from the daytime version).

Interesting! Although the Koopalings' sprites had to be similar to their SMB3 sprites.

Yeah, true, since SMAS SMB1 Bowser also looks more similar to the one in SMB3. I could do an alternate version (that only contains the Koopalings), but that will take some time, because I'm preparing for my final exams. I think that the facial expressions need to be changed the most, because they look as "derpy" as the ones from the original NES SMB1 Bowser sprite.

Interesting... I knew that the castle wall BG in TLL uses a slightly different pallete than the one in SMB1, but I didn't know that TLL has a different background arrangement for the Underwater Ruins than SMB1. You learn something new everyday...

I meant the koopalings in their modern colors.

That's a good idea, but I don't think it's completely possible, because I try to stay as faithful to the SNES' limitations (e.g. 16 colors) as possible. The shell parts of the Koopaling sprites I've finished so far alone already have four colors, because each of the palettes is based on the one of SMB1 SMAS Bowser.
With the wands, however, I allow myself more "creative" freedom. This means that I don't really consider the wands as a part of the main sprites, but rather sprites that are overlaid on top of the Koopalings (kinda like the NES sprite of Mega Man actually consisting of two sprites). But I try to "modernize" the palettes a bit more. Iggy's hair will be green, for example.

Will you also do it in modern colors?

Modern Colors? Do you mean the Koopalings?

Your sprites make me wonder once again, why Nintendo didn't just take Luigi's sprites from the All-Stars version of Super Mario Bros. 3 and reduced the colors to match the NES limitations (Same can be said about the Bonus theme, Normal Boss Theme and final Boss Theme for SMB1).
After all, SMW Luigi's sprites were altered for SMM2, while SMB3 Luigi's sprites are the exact same ones from SMB3, save for the colors.
This is exactly how I would've wished Luigi to look like in SMM2.

What about Frog Mario, Luigi, Toad & Toadette In All-Stars Style?

I might do them later, because I'll first do the SMB1 sprites.

Wow Man, IT was COOOOOOOOOOOOOOL!!!!!!!!!!!!! WILL you make one 3.0 Update in SMB1 SMAS sprites?

Yep, of course. Might take a bit longer though, because unlike with the SMB3 sprites, I must draw all of the Koopaling sprites completely from scratch. And I'm in my preparations for my final exams. Luckily enough, May the 1st is on Friday and the weekend is therefore longer, so look forward to the sprites!

I don't recall seeing any of your submissions for this year. It could be the upload system acting up. Have you tried to clear the browser cache and see if that helps? If not, contact one of us via forum DM system since the main site messaging system is very limited.

I'll try that. Thank in advance!

I've got a small question. On saturday, I wanted to submit some backgrounds. According to the dialog box after I clicked "submit", my submission was sent to queue and that I could view it at the "My Submissions" Tab. Normally, it would show my submission along with (QUEUED), as with other submissions of mine. But this time, it immediately disappeared, but I don't know what happened. It didn't say it was rejected or anything the past two days or appeared anywhere, it was just gone. My last submission was in December. Did anything change with submissions between 2019 and 2020 that I wasn't aware of or anything else?

I definitely enjoy it, what a great job done here. The only problem is if you want people to actually use in real snes games, they'll need to be 16 x 16

I know, but I don't know yet, how to downsample them to 16x16px whilst retaining some of the quality. It's of course not supposed to be an exact recreation of SNES Graphics (It's better for fanmade games, something like SMBX), as transparency can't be replicated as good on a SNES as in my graphics either. It can either have full opacity, or half transparency but only one of them can exist in the whole graphic (along with complete transparency).

Small Question: I want to make the Airship BG more diverse from the Sky BG. To what color should I change the BG gradient of the Airship (except blue) to, or should I add some (fitting) details?
Edit: Decided to make a sunset Gradient

Can you Do SMM2 SMAS SMB3 Backgrounds (Night) ?

I'll try to make them as fast as possible. Definetly till weekend.
Edit: Sorry for not finishing the backgrounds, school was a bit stressful in the last two weeks, because we have to do a seminar paper/ project paper in 12th and 13th grade and I had to concentrate on the writing part of it. At least I'm finished with that and have a bit more time to maybe finishing the night versions next week.

I love it.
Can't wait to see more.

Thanks. I'll try to post new content as soon as possible, but I'm currently at school (13th grade) and can't post anything new until later today.
