Pros | Decent engine Level design is okay Good programming of the HUD |
Cons | Mario is hard to control Good amount of glitches Graphics...er...try again |
Gameplay 5 / 10 |
First, I'd like to point out that 8-bit Gamer named this game "Super Mario Remasted!." My guess is that he spelled "remastered" wrong and accidentally put a period at the end. Anyway, the gameplay is just like your everyday Mario platformer, where you do all of Mario's classic moves. When you first start the game, you see a pretty...unique menu, where control Mario and hit the blocks to tell you what to do. It would be much simpler and more organized if 8-bit Gamer didn't change the size of the window, and didn't make a different level of flooring for different options. The glitches need to be fixed, like any other fangame on MFGG, but I guess I should tell Hello that, considering he made the engine. When Mario hits a block, it doesn't always get hit. Sometimes Mario gets stuck inside of the block! Overall, Mario is way too hard to control. He slides too far, and he's just all-around slippery. Gameplay deserves a 5. |
Graphics 6 / 10 |
The graphics are just simple recolored 8-bit SMB sprites with no shading. I think there's a better choice of those kind of graphics here on the site, but they aren't really half bad. The only problem is that 8-bit Gamer failed to add decorations and scenery to the levels. Graphics get a 6. |
Sound 5 / 10 |
8-bit Gamer used some okay SMB remixes for the music, which sounds pretty...left out in the levels, you know what I mean? The music just doesn't fit with the style of the game. Some of the sound effects are just ridiculously loud that I needed to turn down my volume. Sound gets a 5. |
Replay 3 / 10 |
There's not really any replay value to this game, because you can't save your game. Sure, there's an option of loading a game, but no saving! Well, at least not that I know of. Replay deserves a 3, sorry. |

It needs work. That's all I have to say. Lots of work for that matter. |
