General Commentary and Game Overview
Really cool, but the controls have some issues.
-Turning around is painful. Turning around in a shoe is ok though.
-The key for pause isn't the same key for unpause. In all my years of gaming, I'm used to being able to press the same button to unpause as I did to pause. Something must be done about this!
-Landing on the edge of a platform needs some work. I was right there, his foot should have reached the corner, but instead he fell. Also, whenever you collide with the side of a wall/object while jumping, your jump goes away and you fall. Then you die. This means you have to be super-extra careful about jumping like you DON'T in most other games (including the game that this is based off of)
-Blarggs don't actually have to touch you for you to die, they just have to come within an approximate 9 pixel proximity of you to kill you.
-Shift is a bad key for jumping. I find myself activating Sticky Keys every 2 minutes. Although, it's nice to be able to use X instead.

Pros It looks good.
It has a presentable appearance.
Making your own levels? Heck yes! This is a great idea!

Cons In game controls/physics/collision rules/etc. - Really bad, to the point where the engine is near unusable for what it is intended.

Impressions
Gameplay
3 / 10
Gameplay - If this were a five star rating I'd give you a 2/5, which would be better, but instead you get the more precise rating of 3/10, simply because, while as great as this is, it's not very usable due to several in game control issues.

Graphics
9 / 10
The graphics are really good. Well, the sprites are from an official Mario game, so what do you expect? That doesn't imemdiatly mean that they'd be good though. There's sprites from several totally different Mario games here, but you were able to put them together so that they blend well. Nice job.

Sound
9 / 10
Really good. Are those from All Stars? Not much else to say. I have no complaints about the sound.

Replay
2 / 10
After the first play goes so bad it doesn't really make you want to play a level again... at all.

Final Words
6 / 10
The engine looks nice, and is a great concept, but there's so many gameplay or "physics" issues, that I find it nearly unusable. I really like this engine and would like to see these issues get fixed so that it will actually be a usable engine.

I'd say that a 6 rating is pretty good. (Which is mainly because the game has good effort, and it was one of my first reviews)
There are indeed a lot of physics problems with this that weren't fixed up.

An unfinished game can be fixed, but a bad game stays bad forever.

What's worse though, is that this isn't a game, it's an engine, meaning it will be used to make other games. What's so bad about this is that instead of game, you have engine, and any game that's produced with it will only be as good. Therefore a bad engine will forever make bad games. (and levels)

Which is why it's so much MORE important for those things to be fixed up in this one, than a normal game.

Stickykeys can be disabled.

Stickykeys can be disabled.

It's still bad to use for a key that will be pressed in so much succession. Not everyone will be aware of that either, and it's different on each version of the operating system. (I don't even know if you can if your desktop doesn't have the right priveledges.)

If I recall, X worked as an alternative, so it's not such a big issue, anyways.
