I'm sorry if that earlier comment came off as rude, by the way; I was just a bit irked from what I interpreted your words as.

It's ok.

1. The whole point (in my opinion) of making something in another thing's style is to copy EVERYTHING(-ish) about it rather than change whatever you want. That's YOUR style, not the style you're trying to copy.
2. Yes, it does. Look at the first image I linked, captioned "Original".
3. How are these complains? They're merely my criticism for the sheet, my honest opinions. Where am I complaining about ANYTHING in your sheet?
4. I'm pretty sure the point of criticism is to listen to all of it, not just a certain piece. If you want to fix the shading, then go ahead, but why JUST the shading and nothing else I've listed?
5. You can try hue shifting, such as going from a moderate orange to a dark red when working with darker colors, and moderate orange to bright yellow when working with lighter ones. That's one way to "fix" shading.

1. It is my style of it. I don't think I made it all that clear.
2. I didn't look at the sources beforehand, but I believed you. I just never noticed it before.
3. Criticism and complaints go somewhat hand in hand on the most basic level. If I complain about a faulty product it can be used as critique for improvement by the creator (not the best example, though it will do). It was also very, very late at night when I written my reply (about 11:30), so that could explain.
4. Most of it is part of the way it looks. as I said its based on the SMM2 NSMBU Angry sun but It isn't the same. Features such as the angrier expression, lack of a nose and rounded rays are part of the design
4.5. you don't have to take in all criticism on something, only ones that help improve the design.

5. Thank you for helping me with that, the glow animation does not look right in my opinion, the rest is okay

Um I have to say Evans version looks better. I like how it looks angry, and the blue eyes. I also like how it has an ancient feel to it. I'm not sure what it is that gives it that feel though. Maybe the round edges. It is however missing a nose, which probably isn't the end of the world considering there other Mario sprites that don't have noses.

Thank you

Criticism time.

- The shading looks kind of like pillowshading, just not around the whole object. The colors don't really blend well, either.
- The bumps/spikes/whatever on the edges appear too round, and it may have been better to make the sprite 27x27 instead of 28x28, or just odd-numbered dimensions rather than even-numbered ones.
- The original's mouth isn't really a frown, it's more neutral. This does not copy that.
- There's no nose, apparently. Not sure why.
- The eyes look "lazy" in the original, while this one's are straight-up angry. As in, the eyelids on the original are going sideways rather than an angle downwards to make it appear mad.

It's an okay start, but there's flaws within it that make it stand out too much. I'd say use reference images if you haven't already.

My version (SMB1): https://cdn.discordapp.com/att...838/unknown.png

I don't think you realise that the NSMBU sun is only the inspiration behind this version. This one is supposed to look angry and less like an actual sun, more like a representation of the sun. Most of the shading is from the original angry sun base (as in the circular bit). Also wait it has a nose in SMM2?

Anyway your complaints mainly come from it thinking it's the NSMBU Sun when it has only used it as inspiration. I tried to avoid this sort of things happening. I'll listen to the shading complaint overall. It's not the best when it comes to the glow as I just moved the colours a shade down.

Thanks for the criticism KibyLover, this will help me improve.

And Pac-Man is a Namco character.

Also I doubt that Sonic sheets wouldn't be allowed considering there's already at least two Mega Man fangames on this site.

Why is Mega man and Pac-man given filters on here but not Sonic.

Im back, and I've brought Mekabon and Nyolin with me. I won't make more of them for a short while probably. I will upload sheets for Super Mario 16's (the mappack I mentioned) tileset, which I have a screenshot of world 3 on the MFFG forums' art board.

I've submitted a rushed form of the backgrounds, I wont be active here for the week in terms of submissions and work on another project (made with a mod for Mari0) I will be active on the Stabyourself.net forums (due to my Mari0 project) so any discussion will probably have to go there.

if I were to guess, he tiled them improperly.
I assumed he used the bottom part of the assets and copy and pasted them, but don't most sheets SMB3 sheets include the bottom tiles? the SMB1(16-bit) one versions more excusable as smb1(8-bit) always had ground 2 tiles tall, which was shortened to 1 in the all-stars remake so there would be just as much room on screen as the 8-bit version. It just look weird
