General Commentary and Game Overview
What's that? Moonrat is making a game? Well, that's something we don't see very often. But is it a good one, or it's just not good? By looking at the screenshot, it looks a little like a clone. Wait, this is made with the Gatete Engine, isn't it? Oh no, this is probably a Gatete clone.

Pros +Tilesets are okay

Cons -Almost nothing new is added
-You didn't get rid of that map debug key
-Star Coins are way too easy to find

Gameplay
2 / 10
As you see it in the screenshot, it's a Gatete clone. No, I didn't mean that it's made by a clone of Gatete. I meant that it uses Gatete's engine, and the only thing that is new is different levels, and these levels aren't that very good. They are just, well, boring. Some levels have a unique gimmick, but all levels don't feel very fun at all to me.

The map just works like the map from the Gatete engine, as Moonrat only cares about making new levels. Heck, he is so serious about only making levels, that he didn't remove that debug key, which unlocks the next level. It's not a total bad thing though, because these levels are just boring. One glitch I found in the map, is that sometimes Mario will just walk off the map, as he is bored too much. Rather than going through levels, Mario would just go swimming to look for a different adventure.

Before I talk about the graphics, I'd like to point out a bug I found in the last level of the demo. If you play the level again, and you have got past a checkpoint, the game will crash as Mario doesn't feel like entering that level anymore.

Graphics
3 / 10
As you might have expected it, the graphics are just SMB3 ones. They might look good, but those are waaaaaay overused. The only graphical thing that is new, is some of the tilesets. But that's it, some tilesets are new.

The rocky background doesn't scroll very good. It can be enough to hurt someones eyes. Oh, and why do I see some floating black Monty Mole-shaped things? But never mind about that, because it appears that those things appear to be Monty Mole-shaped portals that spits out a Monty Mole.

Sound
3 / 10
I noticed that a few musical tracks are new, so that gives you a bonus! I think they are MIDIs, but they sound very good for MIDIs. Besides that, anything about the music isn't really worth talking about.

The sounds aren't really anything special, because they are unedited. At least you add in Mario's voice...

Replay
1 / 10
Thanks to the boring levels, there is no point of playing the game again. Sure, there is Star Coins, but they are very easy to find, and you'll usually be able to see them if just play the levels from start to finish. So hunting for Star Coins isn't really that fun, to be honest.

Final Words
2 / 10
Super Mario 2D Land?! More like "Gatete Engine 7: Boring Levels Edition".

"Monty Mole-shaped portals" Actually, Monty Moles burrow through dirt and jump out when they notice Mario. They are not portals, though.

I'm just joking! I know they burrow through dirt, but these holes are floating at the air, so I called them portals.

Hehe, I HAVE FURY! Flying Monty Mole holes are not common in the Mushroom Kingdom and may be proven a strange sight.
