Welcome to my very first submission to MFGG, and one of my very first games entirely. I wanted to get my feet wet in fangaming, but not just make another generic Hello clone or joke game, so I looked back at a very underrated fangame called, “Redemption” (I highly recommend you check it out). While it had a great concept, I feel it could’ve been executed better and hasn’t aged very well, so I "updated" it. Oh, but this is no simple remake! Mine has much more modern sprites, three endings (based on where you go in the game) two of which have a boss fight, is far superior aesthetically, has a modernized engine that I made from scratch, my own music piece, and much much more!

I used several sprite sheets (which I edited) from MFGG, but everything else is totally custom (hit F1). This is my first attempt at a platformer, so please give me lots of constructive critiscm in the comments and reviews! Or... hate. Anything is fine. I just really want to know how good it is.

I will probably release another version which will add another ending, fix whatever bugs you guys find, and just make the game better in general. But for now, enjoy!
Completion: Full Game Genre: Platform
Franchise: Mario

Just played the game. It`s not what I was expecting, but you should get a review soon enough

One thing's for sure, this is impressive for a first submission. During the short time that the game lasted, while I felt I didn't have much else to do apart from walking to the right and jumping, I enjoyed the story that progressed throughout the game. The silhouette and blank background graphics add to the atmosphere given by it, and the lack of music while questionable adds an additional layer of gloom.

The main issue is the collision problems with the side of platforms and walls, and I think the game could do with some small details in the background, such as thin pipes or dark clouds. Overall, while I hadn't played Redemption beforehand, this is a nice little game!

I have to disagree with the user above. The lack of music was not good. A least give it a low tune or even his footsteps, something. There's got to be something to keep me from falling asleep: all I'm doing is holding the right key. Zzzzzz I know what you were trying to do here but there was so much that could be added. I may add a review, probably in a few days when I come back to the site.

Edit: Okay, it's your first game. Missed that. But the points above will not change. I did play all the way through and finished it, so bs. Saw two endings. The first is when I fell into a hole and he tried to blow up M ---spoiler. And the second is a happy ending.

What the heck? I sent a PM to an admin so that this wouldn't be posted!

I have a way more updated version. I'll try and update it! Once I figure out how...

In the meantime, just download from here: <a href="http://url;<a href="https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_3PpBCNUNaJSVlpT1hqMnIzSU0/edit">;;https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B_3PpBCNUNaJSVlpT1hqMnIzSU0/edit[/url]

If anyone is going to review it, please note that this version has a working boss fight, a music option, and a fix in the level design where you couldn't get to the alternate-path boss (if you head back when you are first told to, the game takes on a whole different story, resulting in a third ending) due to a fixed collision engine.

If you mean you want to update your submission but you do not know how, just go to My Submissions, click on the name of your submission, and edit some details (like the file, thumbnail, preview image, and the description), then click Update Submission. First off the update will start being reviewed by the admins in the queue, so please wait!

Thank you for the help! Hopefully it will get updated before too many more download it, because every complaint I've seen so far was fixed in the later version. I still don't see why this go posted in the first place though...

Your attempt to fix the collisions, while well-meaning, has made it impossible to complete the route where you turn back and go up. Where it says "YOU'RE ABOUT TO HIT A DEAD END," there is a one-block-high space. In the old version you could fit through, but now it cannot be done.

I am aware of that, and I have an updated version. Whenever the update goes through the system here, it will be fixed.
