General Commentary and Game Overview
This is a new platform game that YoManRulz submitted for the Minigame Competition, which has a theme of misdirection and deception. And the game definitely provides those things, as you will discover at the very first pipe.

And speaking of misdirection, I was surprised that there were no actual Bloopers in this game; the game's title refers to movie outtakes, not Mario squids.

Pros + Forces players to think outside of the box
+ Some clever gameplay devices

Cons - Can be frustrating
- So-so graphics
- Nothing happens at the end of the game

Impressions
Gameplay
5 / 10
This is a slightly psychotic 2-D platform game. The first level looks like a standard Mario level, except seemingly innocuous objects - including the very first pipe - will hurt you! Even a fluffy little cloud and the final flagpole of the first level can't safely be touched.

Later levels take place within Bowser's Castle and contain some particularly diabolical traps, although they're once you're used to the zeitgeist of the game, you're unlikely to be quite as confounded by the obstacles. Still, this is a pretty tough game.

Lives are unlimited, although the number of lives you lose is measured in the form of "Takes," shown at the beginning of each level. It took me about 60 "takes" to complete the game. Thankfully, when you lose a life, you restart from the beginning of the room.

Graphics
5 / 10
The graphics in this game don't mesh together very well. You'll see some custom SMB 3-styled sprites, some custom Goombas, and some ripped graphics, most of which don't quite match with the backgrounds and tilesets. There are also a few places where the tiles aren't arranged properly.

Sound
5 / 10
There's a weird combination of music - all MIDIs - in this game. The first level plays the traditional Zelda music (the Majora's Mask version), although this particular arrangement doesn't really fit very well in this kind of Mario game. You'll also hear a pretty good version of the SMB 3 final boss theme, as well as a castle theme and an opening theme I've never heard before. The music isn't spectacular and doesn't always fit very well, but it gets the job done.

Sound effects are pretty standard.

Replay
2 / 10
Most of the challenge - and fun - in this game is figuring out how to get past the various obstacles. Once you've done that, you're unlikely to feel the urge to play this game again.

Final Words
5 / 10
Bloopers isn't the best game of all time, but it will definitely make you think outside of the box.
