General Commentary and Game Overview
Before I start to tell about all the good things this game has to offer, I must say that this game is incredibly difficult. Seriously, it's as challenging as a real video game. And that's not a bad thing. In fact, I think a lot of fangames are too easy.

Being raised by my NES I know difficulty when I see it. And I love difficult games, which is why I love this one! That being said I have to give this game props for originality. This game features new enemies that look straight out of a Mario game, an all-new antagonist, Mael, great level designs, fast-paced actions and wonderful music.

The controls on the keyboard are smooth, but when you need to take your hand off the arrow keys and use the mouse to shoot, it can feel a little awkward. The action, however, usually slows down when you need to use eggs, final boss notwithstanding.

Highlights:

1. Bounding up the inside of a volcano, racing lava in a classic video game moment in level 3.

2. Using the star in level 4.

3. The final boss and ending are timeless. Wii Sports anyone?

Pros -New enemies that fit in the Marioverse
-Great, fitting music
-Fast-paced action
-30-coin instant health

Cons -Collision detection could use a little work
-(Seemingly) Randomized enemy patterns

Gameplay
9 / 10
The controls work well for the most part. You have your basic jump, tongue and egg controls. The eggs are a little awkward as you move with the arrow keys and shoot with the mouse, but the pacing usually slows down when you're required to use them. The game is generally fast-paced, which is by no means a problem. In fact, hardcore gamers will love it if they enjoyed The Lost Levels, or the old Sonic games. However, Yoshi can be a tad slippery at times, and there's jut no room for that in a fast-paced game like this one.

The enemies in this game go fast. We're talking shelcreeper-after-getting-knocked-out-of-his-shell-and-turning-blue fast. However, if you want to avoid them, you can hover a lot. There are points when you have to make pinpoint-accurate jumps off o enemies heads, but luckily those enemies (the Goonies of Stage 4) move a little slower than the rest of the pack.

That being said the game is otherwise great! It plays fairly smooth (sometimes too smooth) and the fast-paced is great. Hardcore gamers like myself should enjoy this game, but the casual gamer probably won't. As I said earlier, the game does get unenjoyably dificult a la Lost Levels.

Graphics
9 / 10
The graphics are, considering they're all 9presumebly) made from scratch, fairly good. The character sprites look fun, very ML artwork-esque as well as Yoshi's Island-esque. The background have a Yoshi charm to them, but some of them look like there was little effort put into them, and by some I mean the foregrounds. However, that won't prevent you from getting a good score!

Sound
10 / 10
The music is great. Not much else to say. 10/10.

Replay
9 / 10
I can honestly say I'll keep at this game. Although it's extremely difficult, I keep clearing it faster and faster. It reminds me in a way of the Lost levels, a very fast-paced game that was, at times, unreasonably difficult. If this game was just a tad easier, it'd be perfect, but hey, I cleared through that game, and I cleared through this one.

Final Words
9 / 10
The game is nothing short of fangame brilliance. It's fast-paced, with mostly smooth controls. However because of it's difficulty I have to say it's for more skilled gamers. Casual gamers beware: This game is hard!

you should finish it before writing the review. if you don't, you can't compliment the final boss. that and the ending sequence are totally awesome.

It's best to actually beat the entire game first before writing a review. It's called a review because you are "reviewing" about how the enitre game was.

Yeah, sorry about the early review, I just didn't want to forget what i wanted to say about the game, and I had honestly played enough of it to know it was good. Although after playing it, stage 4 was a tad easy.
