General Commentary and Game Overview
You may remember gamester's previous endeavors to the perfection of cloning Mario games. Normal Super Mario Bros. 1 was a pretty close clone, and Normal Super Mario Bros. 2 was even closer.

Well, gamester has perfected his art in Normal Super Mario Bros. 3, a clone of Super Mario Bros. 3 to the iota. Not one thing is out of place.

Pros + It's. Super. Mario. Bros. 3.

Cons - Impossible. It's Super Mario Bros. 3.

Impressions
Gameplay
10 / 10
It's Super Mario Bros. 3. With the running and the jumping and the saving of the princess LAAAAAAAAADYYYYYYYYYYYYYY

Okay. So, you know, collect the coins, get the powerups, don't run out of health, and stomp the enemies. Running low on health? Don't worry! Blocks have fuzzies to restore your health.

Best of all, you get to play as Luigi.

Being a Mario game, and one that happens to be Super Mario Bros. 3, it's got powerups. Who could ever forget first getting the Bomberman powerup! Playing as Bomberman Luigi is just as great as it was then.

I won't spoil any more, but rest assured it's just the same. You can even find the hidden objects, just like in Super Mario Bros. 3. Fantastic fun!

Just download it. It's fantastic.

Graphics
10 / 10
It's a perfect emulation. Worried that the health meter isn't the same? Don't, it is. Worried that the Magic Wand isn't there? Nope, it is. Everything is perfect.

Sound
10 / 10
Remember the classic tunes from Super Mario Bros. 3? It's all there! Every tune, every single instrument there. It's not even a remix; it's the perfect emulation.

There's also the sound effects. They're all there. That crunching sound when you hit something? Yep. That noise Metal Gear Solid totally stole from this game? Uh-huh. (Don't think I'll forgive you, Snake!)

It's all there.

Replay
10 / 10
SUPER MARIO BROS. 3. This alone should explain why. But I guess. It's really, really fun and it's perfect. In every way. There's even the additional hard mode, just like in Super Mario Bros. 3! Excellent!

Final Words
10 / 10
Super Mario Bros. 3? On MY MFGG? It's more likely than you think.

Ugh, I would expect better from a mod. Heck, I wouldn't even expect a QC mod to accept this review if someone else wrote it. Having played part of the first one, I am familiar with the premise of the "normal" series, but a joke game doesn't warrant a joke review. Score pollution. Nasty, filthy score pollution, messing up the games list as sorted by score. Reading it gives me the same sickening feeling as reading Wikipedia vandalism, albeit without any of the swearing and innapropriate content, yet with all of the bad attitude intact.

Nice try, Myuu, but it's not going to fly. As much as my review pokes fun at the premise of "normalcy", your idea of it not being a fun time (clearly stated, as you say it's "score pollution", a blatant lie if I ever saw one) is an opinion that I simply don't share.

I truly enjoy this game. I truly believe it deserves a ten out of ten. My review is as much as joke as it is my true opinion of the game, with a little silliness. You'll note that the only falsehood in my review is the idea that it is a perfect clone of the original Super Mario Bros. 3, when it's obvious it isn't. Everything else is absolutely 100% a part of the game.

It deserves a ten out of ten. You may call it score pollution, but just because you can't stand the fact that other people are having fun with something you don't enjoy doesn't give you the right to attack my opinion, no matter how silly I decide to present it.

You'll also like to note that I did not handle anything with this review in terms of accepting or declining it. All I did was submit it. I didn't push any magical "accept" button in the queue. It was accepted by the other mods.

I also reviewed the previous games in the series in a similar manner and didn't receive any comments on score pollution at all, and they too only contained one falsehood; namely, that they are perfect clones. And those were written before I became site staff.

Myuu, I can understand your point. About the score I can say that NSMB2 is about one generation (e.g. NES to SNES) better than NSMB regarding gameplay - not pixelperfect but still very polished... From what I've seen NSMB3 is also on that level of polish.

Personally I am quite harsh when rating (I gave Okami 57%) but I see reviews as entertainment as well as the games themselves (an interesting text is worth reading, even if it's just an opinion).

Anyway, cheers to you two :) each person's opinion matters - so I should probably write a counter-review, but I find it hard to formulate in English.

Geez, you didn't have to yell at me. I wasn't saying the game couldn't be fun, but I found a perfect ten, not just in total but in every category, surprising, and I thought the review really looked like a pure joke. It looked fake, like it wasn't serious at all. I didn't know that you were being serious, that you really liked the game enough for a ten, and thought you were just joking around carelessly with the review system to be in the spirit of the game. I'm sorry, OK?

But, for the record, saying that I wouldn't have expected the other mods to accept it didn't mean that I was unwilling to believe it so after the fact. I didn't believe, at least with full certainty, that you accepted it yourself. Also for the record, I wasn't criticizing over disagreement about the game's quality (which would be petty), but because I genuinely thought that your score was not sincere and just a joke. But, having misunderstood the intent of the review, I still thought it deserving of my criticism, and I was overly harsh. If you were really being sincere about the ten, then I again would like to say that I am sorry, and ask you to please accept my apology.

P.S. What did you mean by "nice try, but it's not going to fly"? You make my criticism sound like I was trying to get away with some sort of crime. I am sorry about criticizing your review, but what was with that?

You sounded as if I was committing some sort of unspeakable crime, accusing me of "score pollution," and it sounded like you didn't like the game at all.

You made it sound like it was only accepted because I was another QC mod.

You said it "sickened" you.

Basically, you were being so extremely harsh I felt like harshness was the only proper response.

And considering I had already made two reviews like this before, it sounded like you were just now starting to pipe up because you didn't like the game. Well, now I know you don't dislike this game.

And I was joking around a bit, but I don't joke around with my scores. Even if I hate the numerical scoring system, I treat it with respect.

I hadn't seen before that the game list could be sorted by score, nifty function. I guess it is quite influenced by single scores.
